Hi in my playthrough I refounded the roman empire. My empire controls almost the entire map (the only areas I don't control are Iceland, Finland, Russia and India). But I recently got into a civil war and now the game is unplayable. when I click the turn timer the game lags ridiculously and I get the message "ck2 is not responding" frequently. I've got a fairly decent gaming PC... does anyone know of any way I can possibly salvage this game?? - I've had huge empire before and been involved in civil wars like this one. But that was a while ago, before ROI was released.

I generally just try to move all my retinue stacks, or levies if I really have to, to the nearest faction territory, and siege as fast as I can.
The civil wars usually take about half an hour to finish. Just make sure every army you have is either siegeing, waiting to be able to siege, or moving towards a new unsieged province, or battling an army.
Then just double click the spacebar to advance to your next "turn".
As long as you have ~15k retinue stacks, they're not hard wars to win, just time consuming. And if you take the time to win instead of jsut white peacing, they wont rebel again from jail.
