Catalina from CO does a demo of the new features coming in Mass Transit.

I am very impressed. I wasn't expecting the ability to micro stop signs and traffic lights. This mechanic is the one I think will change the way the game plays the most.

Passenger trains are dead. Long live the monorail! The biggest factor for me is the ability to directly integrate with roads. This opens a huge amount of possibilities in design.

Multi transit terminals. The demo showed us a monorail station with bus stops directly integrated. I am hoping for a monorail + metro terminal and similar combos with the new ferries.

We can draw the paths the ferries and blimps will take. This was the one thing I was hoping for most when these were announced. I was worried they would autopath between the locations. Ferries also enable the canal city with people using the water as transportation dream. I know I'm not the only one who has wanted this.

I really don't understand why they excluded so many good things from traffic manager mode, I think I still will have to use this mod to have options like line connection, signs, restrictions and ability to set traffic lights for specific conditions.
I was expecting all this stuff will be included in game... but no (
But maybe they will include this stuff later if many players will show their support for more micromanagement options.

Argh! Those terrible video presentations! The half baked answer to the precision engineering tool mod NO NO NO! We MUST have the measurement LENGTH of any road/rail line displayed too! Is it really too much to ask? Isn't it obvious?

While I do agree that they are not exactly polished presentations, I'd rather that than not get anything at all until after the content is released.

Yes, must have the length too. I have commented on that a few times. No replies on it as of yet. We need more people to keep asking for it. We want length! We want length! :)

WE DEMAND LENGTH! The presentations are massive fails- masterclasses on how NOT to produce an effective presentation- lacking structure/focus and rambling commentary. A 2nd grader could do better.

While the quality does leave something to be desired, I still say better than not at all. I have gotten to see some interesting stuff from these videos. Also because of the video we can all see what is lacking (aside from the aforementioned video production) and start pushing for refinements like LENGTH measurements. Size matters.

In my experience, stop signs just causes the AI drivers to become beta, and to afraid to enter the roundabout, or enter the intersection. unless there is no cars around within 15 m.

While toggle traffic lights and stop signs from Traffic Manager President Edition (TMPE) is great to see implemented into the vanilla game by Colossal Order, I am concerned about the developers choice to not implement give way (yield) signs. Stopping is not the same as giving way!

In the live stream, CO developer Karoliina has said that stop signs will work great for managing traffic at roundabouts, however, that is simply not true. If every car were to come to a full stop before entering a roundabout regardless if there were cars in the roundabout or not, the result would be unnecessary traffic congestion. That's why in real life roundabouts have give way (yield) signs for traffic entering the roundabout so that cars can enter the roundabout without stopping if it is safe to do so.

I really hope they implement give way (yield) signs from TMPE and not just stop signs. Just having no traffic lights and no stop signs at the roundabout will not be the same as having give way signs because the simulation will not know which cars have priority at the roundabout.

On a positive note, I think it's cool that stop signs visually show up on the streetscape now. Would be even cooler if we could set give way so that give way signs would visually displayed too ;)

I too would have loved to see all the functions of TM:pE implemented, but some of those options simply affect the traffic AI more than CO are willing to. I'm not a modder, so I don't know how it all works, but just from my own cities I can see an impact of TM:pE and I don't even use most of the added AI options. And that's with a system well above the minimum requirements. The way I see it some of those options aren't so much for us loving TM:pE, but for those wishing they had those options, but just can't run TM:pE for whatever reason.

@muttonnoir I'd really suggest you make a post about what you'd actually like to see in videos like this. If CO/Paradox know what we want to see, they're more likely to actually give it to us. Saying this format doesn't work leaves alot of other ways to do it, many of which will prob leave you just as frustrated. At the very least I'm sure CO/Paradox would appreciate a reference to the 2nd grader, who knows how to do this. ;)

I want line connector, I would like to see priority signs not stop signs, and would be cool to have restrictions on intersections.
