Is it possible that a water tower located in a ore region could be the initiator? The tower is connected to the main water piping. The main water inlets on a river are free from pollution. Residential is well away from any pollution. Can't think of any thing else?

Any industry could poison your water supply through ground pollution.. Never put a water tower or pump in or close to any industry.

Look at your pollution info display. If the water pollution level is anything other than 0 (even if it's just 1) you will get mass sickness. Look for:

- A water tower placed on polluted land
- A water pump ingesting polluted water from a waste pipe (examine the water direction arrows carefully).

Simple placing a water tower in an ore resource with no industry nearby will not cause water pollution. Only actual pollution (from industry or garbage facilities or waste pipes) will cause the water to be polluted.

if your sucking from upstream and you have 2 rivers this can cause back flow up one of the rivers, the arrows can change

I also heard that garbage accumulations in otherwise clean buildings count as ground pollution. So if you build a water tower next to shops or schools or whatever and the garbage truck is delayed, this could also poison your water.
