Well, had the game for a few days now, and yesterday started a Russian GC. I get to 1880 and then I get hit by non-stop revolts throughout my massive empire, like 3/4 a day! Reading these boards I learnt how to stop them by granting reforms, changing from a monarchy to democracy, but these all take time and most of all MONEY! I have a pretty good empire, I rank 5th, with around 620 prestige, but financial situation is poor, with quite high taxes and tariffs, in order to maintain some semblance of a military. Looking at my POPs grievences its mainly the tax and tariffs, plus I have loads of both 10 militancy/10 conciousness communists and reactionaries. I went massivley into debt to grant universal sufferage, but I think I am really totally screwed as I cannot afford to lower taxes and tariffs whilst my industry is going down the pan due to revolting workers plus upkeep military and pay off massive interest from loan. LOL!
Is there a way to save my empire? What happens if the revolting provinces gain the province? Communist dictatorship? Is a revolution happening lol?

I like how Vic does mimick the problems of the late 19Century, esp. those of Russia, with workers demanding better living conditions and rights. At first I though the 1905 revolution had happened early, but looking closely now its all down to my inexperianced mismanagement....

Great game, really is....

They have to gain the capital for a revolution :)

Other stuff you could do to save your empire:
Starion garrisons in every(! for Russia) province, this will lower militancy.
Over-fund social reforms, this will lower CON by raising trust in government.
Make some clergy in each state, they will lower CON for the lower classes.

let the rebels take sankt petersburg, then the revolution succeeds and you may play along as a commie

That is pretty neat. Wat happens to other provinces in revolt then? Do they stop revolting, etc? Think I will try and let them take saint petersburg just to see what happens, as I am pretty much screwed anyway....
