After forming Lotharingia over a hundred years ago, I have killed many a male heir. Blood on the tracks.

Is this now a pure RNG play, or is there an event for a female heir?

This part of obtaining the acheevo has been less then fun.

Thanks.

Which version of the game do you play? Female heirs are bugged in 1.30 and in the early 1.31 patches and can only be gained from events. 1.31.3 should have around 6% chance for a female heir though. It is possible that this chance is increased by female advisor chance as the 1.30 patchnotes indicate, but this might have been removed in the bugfix.

1.30.4
In that case, you are affected by the female heir bug. Do you have a modifier which increase the chance for female advisors(you can get it from one of the inheritance events)? Then you would have to multiply the chance for a female heir(I think also around 6% in 1.30.4) with the female advisor chance(the exact formula might be slightly different).
If you don't have female advisor chance, your chance for female heirs from normal birth or introduce heir is 0. So you need to get a female ruler/heir from an event. The best chance are events like the ambitious daughter which become more likely with an old ruler.

Yeah, the best strategy for the version you're playing is to disinherit heirs if your ruler is older than 40. That gets you a chance to roll the event "Talented and Ambitious Daughter" if you have no heir, which grants you a brilliant female heir.
