Since i cannot find it elsewhere, what are the requirements to acquire the trait? I usually like to have a daughter to follow a martial education, the annoying thing is when she gets 24 martial and she still cannot lead armies!
BTW an option to give that trait to one of your daughters can be nice, since it's a king decision and your vassal can stick to it and follow her orders or face your wrath... There were much weirder decisions in hystory and even worser appear in the lunatic trait.

Really, you're asking two separate questions.

For any adult woman with a martial education (or the Holy Warrior or Crusader traits), an event will fire relatively quickly that gives them a one-time choice to gain the appropriate trait (Martial Lady, Shield Maiden, or Lady of Horse and Bow depending on religion). However, for a woman, even with that trait, to command armies she still needs one of the following:

-Be a Cathar, and either independent or the direct vassal of another Cathar
-Be a Zoroastrian of the Iranian cultural group with a dynasty member of at least Count rank, with the Lady of Horse and Bow trait, and either an independent ruler or the direct vassal of another Iranian Zoroastrian
-Be an independent ruler with one of the three Martial Lady traits or a Martial rating of at least 12
-Be either a ruler, or a direct vassal of a ruler, with Absolute Cognatic, Enatic-Cognatic, or Enatic succession
-Be Joan of Arc, one of the three witches from the Demon Child event chain, or otherwise gain the special marshal flag.

Like the above post says, the trait isn't what solely determines whether a female character can lead an army. It is, however, what determines whether the female character is going to do things like fight in a tournament or take part in a hunt.
