I have been trying to find the event file for the Mars El Kebir event, which lets the UK declare war on vichy france. I want to find out where it is in the games files, since the AI always chooses war and it kills the event chain of Vichy defections and territorial exchanges with free france. I can't seem to find it though, it isn't in the UK event files, or the event files for Vichy or anywhere. Does anyone know where this event is?

AFAIK this event is in implemented in DAIM, maybe i some other mods too, but when it comes to DAIM it is inside japanmanpower.txt along with other neaty events like slider move reminder and G'kars AI EXP force modification...

Thanks for that info. I found the file, and it was right there. Strange why they would put a British event in a file named japanmanpower.

Just a precision. Historically GB didn't declare war on Vichy while attacking the french marine in Mers el Kebir, Churchill and the Admiralty were really afraid of an italian or german use of these ships so they decided to destroy this fleet. But technically Vichy never entered in war against the allies.

the best approach I have seen has been for mods to use events to represent this. As it cannot be achieved through the game mechanism owing to the lack of actual declaration of war.
