Okay its been a long while for me out in the sun and the sand playing soldier soldier. However, im back and keen to get a decent Game of Rome done before im back away again.

However I did enjoy experimenting with the marriage feature before I went away. But i cant for the life of me remember how to bring up the consol text box in order to type in the command, moreover am no longer certain what the exact command for this function was.

Could anyone with a beter memory than me fill me in on the missing information.

(for those wondering what im on about, its a feature you can turn on that enables you to select all the marriages in your little empire by hand, ie no more 20 year old hier to the throne marrying some 60 year old spinster with no political value. The option to take less desirable monarchs out the gene pool by ensuring they end up in aformentioned relationship.)

Thanks as always Cheexsta :)

Assuming the command needed is just the word Marriage or Marriages If im remembering right for those others out there that want to play with this system. (more than anything i find this more beneficial if you want to roleplay your country a little.

Hi there

That sounds like an interesting feature.

Could you (or someone else, like Cheexsta!) explain how it works in practice, how to do it, and what is achieved.

(I'm getting eager to start out again with Rome!)

Many thanks.

If I start this "cheat" - means this the programm stops the automatically marriage for my senators?

And btw: My main problem is that my famous senators don't get sons but daughters. Is there a cheat to make sons? My only strategy is open the savegame and transform daughters to sons.

Cool, this brings up the possibility of dynastic unions. Can you select characters from other nations? And if so does having a queen from a rival royal family improve diplomatic relations? I note that at the start of the game a number of kings are already in political marriages

Yes, but it also means that you have to manage every single marriage in your country. I'd suggest using it only to arrange marriages for a few characters before disabling it again, unless you don't mind that extra level of micromanagement.

And btw: My main problem is that my famous senators don't get sons but daughters. Is there a cheat to make sons? My only strategy is open the savegame and transform daughters to sons.
Not that I'm aware of.

I don't think so, but then I didn't really try. It is a shame that in a game so focused around characters that you can't set up royal marriages. Especially considering how intertwined the Seleucid and Ptolemaic family trees were!
