Okay, I gamed out on CKII when it first came out, now I'm updated to 1.07 and starting a new campaign. For some reason I'm having trouble arranging marriages for my offspring. First, what happened to the little ring icon on my child's portrait that would pull up a group of eligible marriage partners? Second, when I go to my heir's portrait and select "arrange marriage" I can only choose from potential marriage partners in my court. And finally, if I find a potential marriage partner for my heir in the character search screen, when I go to "arrange marriage" for that person, my unmarried heir doesn't come up as a potential partner! I have to admit I'm very confused - I don't recall having these problems when the game first came out - did arranging marriages change in the interim?

P.S. - I also seem to be having graphics problems that I didn't have when the game first came out. Now I get stuttering when I move the map around, and my computer should be more than powerful enough to run the game.

For the first problem, your heir is probably a landed vassal. If you're a King and you give a County or Duchy to your heir, for example, you can't arrange marriages between them and foreign powers.

For the second, it sounds like your heir is still a child and you need to use the "arrange betrothal" option.

Hmm, I suspect you're right. I previously tended to keep my offspring unlanded until they're older, presumably after I already arranged marriages for them. In this instance I had a large amount of land to distribute and unwittingly removed them from court prior to arranging marriages. Oh well, lesson learned! Thanks for the help!
