Marius Update: Crash beyond the main menu

Today I've opened Imperator after buying the long awaited Heirs of Alexander DLC, my experience starts amazingly sa the new main menu looks stunning!

However, I thing it may perhaps look a bit too stunning.... as I press Single player I am greeted with this lovely message

I've been trying to solve this for the past 40minutes, and nothing fixes it, I have no mods, only dlcs, the game is updated, i did a fresh instal on it, verifies file integrity, everything...

I hope someone might know another fix, thanks in advance!

UPDATE: I deleted my entire "C:\Users\name.lastname\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Imperator\" folder and the game loads fine now, thanks for all the help!

Same issue, only my game doesn't stuck but stops responding on the next screen.

Same issue.

Was playing as normal, saved and exited the game for a while.

Now it crashes when I try to load the saved game.

Edit: Nevermind, seems like the "Continue" button was trying to load the wrong save file (one from the 1.0 version).

I uninstalled the game, deleted the Imperator folder, and reinstalled the game. Now it works perfectly.

I'm raving with this update, it feels a bit like re-learning how to play it with all the new features. Love it!
