dude you didnt understand
You still gonna pay %50 more diplo points to annex tunis as example... because of his idea %50 core cost
When diplo annex you still coring his provinces... just all at the same time thats only difrence. so by doing this you just paid it with diplo points not admin points
its incrasing 100 diplo cost to 150 diplo cost BECAUSE OF TRADITIONS!

I mean this has nothing to do with marches -_-

Well, I didn't actually realize that, so that helps. But I can still get under it via the vassal integration act... so it's still better than just straight up eating them.

Anyway, when you set up a march, you're basically saying, "I don't want this land." "I'm content to just sit here and look at it... and let it be my defensive battle buddy."
I never find myself saying that. I just keep eating. Some lands are more beneficial than others (culture, religion, development, can't make everything states, etc.) but I never find myself saying, "This is it... I'm going to stop here". -If I get to that point, I just start a new game.

Direct control is best control. Besides, hasn't the OP ever heard that it 'all belongs to mother Russia'?

well sometimes you really want someone to be your defensive buddy as russia or poland

as example for poland: You cant fight both ottoman and muscovy together! Thats why moldavia exist you must make sure you feed him lands where you can block ottoman border cross(also there are event chains that giving claims to both side wich is bad thing if you are not gonna dow ottoman)

as russia: You cant fight denmark commonwealth and ming at the same time again you need to make a decision and pick a defensive person where will hold the line

ofcourse if you really min max you can defeat both but if you sacrifice %25 efficency game becomes %50 more easy (wich is value)

also some nations got too strong ideas that makes them perfect vassal or march (Byzantium/greece are amazing vassal while brandenburg is wonderful march as example)

by the way you can buff your marches a lot... give them extra bonuses... imagine brandenburg with bonus military advantages... yea :D
