I was playing as Poland and I gave my March Moldavia hundreds of ducats to fortify their provinces. I noticed that they mothballed all of them except one. Then some years passed and I noticed that they destroyed all of them except one. I guess they couldn't afford the upkeep so they dismantled them completely. This was pretty annoying for me because I wasted all those ducats. It seems to me like this is a problem that needs fixed. The AI should be doing some kind of check to see if it can afford the forts before accepting. Or, the overlord should have the option to pay for the fort upkeep.
