is this supposed to happen?? Ive never seen the HRE form in any of my hundreds of hours so i don't know if this is the case. but i built up Switzerland to be a dominant force (able to field 60K units) and now they are a vassal of the Emperor.
Yes this happens since game launch. Annex your vassals before the reform is passed or better yet, fight the emperor so that he doesn't pass reforms!can someone just let me know if this is normal and/or how to prevent this from happening other than annexing my vassals/marches before the HRE is formed. thanks in advance.
thanks for the response...cant do that, Austria is allied with all my allies and now has my battering ram in Switzerland as his own vassal lol. oh well.Normal. Prevent it from happening by DoWing the Emperor and getting him to revoke a reform.
gotcha, thanks for the reply. did not know this would happen...will know for next time.It is normal, yes. Your vassal is actually not your vassal at all. He's de jure a vassal of the empire and thus will join the HRE instead of you.
