What i have experienced there are some things that could be made better... In the board game EU i recall that map discoveries at a time start to be general knowledge to all... When you take maps in sea battles you should not atomatically take all, let it be a % of... And why not have the capture map chance if you capture a enemy town...

Just some ideas ! /H

Well

If you can capture maps when you win a sea battle, aka capturing boats... I city contains so much more and Why should there not be maps in the palace, i think the monark has some drawings of his Empire or the area hi is supposed to rule ?

Well

As i wrote there should be a chance for this to happen and you shuddent get all, but a percentage !... A king usually have a skilled staff around himself, so id say that its not that impossible...

I hope that in EUII you should have more
countys on the map and no land should be
unpossibel to explore.
In an sea battle it should be most
right i the enemy ship carreis maps
in tfe same part of the world were
the battle is struggeld.

There are some parts of the world that still haven't been explored in 2001. It doesn't make sense to make the whole thing explorable by 1820 :D

There are a couple of ways to increase the level of complexity for exploration and maps; here's some ideas.
- Higher cost for more difficult exploration: If people want to map the Himalayas or African Jungle, it's going to cost a lot of lives and mucho coin.
- Higher tech level or conquistador competency to explore in different types of terrain
- The stolen rutters random event can become more common as colonization spreads. I can understand a nation can keep its secrets when its only the military that's involved. However you start funding those colonists and traders; and those civilians just can't seem to keep their mouths shut... Perhaps the word leaks out over time and single provinces and sea zones become known to the world at large.
