The new features of AoD seem really awesome, but the game still lacks on the visual side. I think that the game would be even better with an improved map, with accurate geographical features and landmarks.

Don't worry, graphics mods IIRC work with AoD.

I belive a different map would break AoD because AFAIK some of the events of province # specfic and the province number would change with a new map.

I still think if AoD could somehow get a map like E3 it would be the best game ever.

Yes, the E3 map would be just awesome, maybe with the graphic style of EU2 Ptolemy World Map

You can't change the map to the E3.. it's a different graphics engine altogether

judging by the last News post though.. it seems they are gonna fool around with the amount of provinces

Mine neither! Though it is the lack of disk space rather than the browser... My computer ground to a halt when I clicked the E3 link above... Had to reboot

So for a simple answer: AoD is compatible with all mods of HoI2, and since there are map projects like E3, AoD can be upgaded to a great map just by using such a mod. Right?

E3Map should be compatible with Arsenal of Democracy, but I'm not sure If I'll buy this game so If it won't, some one else would have to fix this map to work with AoD.

here is the map thread (it's been on the 6th page)... seriously, will there be a new map?

the low number of provs caused gameplay problems, as well s the fact that they were not acurately drawn...

The E3 project created a good map (at least for diplomatical and political reasons, the geografy is not that good)...
In any case here is my question to the developers:

WILL THERE BE A NEW MAP?

IF YES, WILL IT RESPECT THE GEOGRAFIC PROPORTIONS? (no Europe as large as Africa)

There will be no new map as part of the AoD release. Lennartos has managed to remove the limitation on number of provinces in a moddedmap, though - it is 10,000 provinces max. in AoD. Modded maps should work with AoD without further modification; nothing we have done will make them not work as far as we know, but we can make no absolute guarantees. Part of the problem is that all events and such need to be rewritten for a new map - we spent our time on other aspects of the game.
