So we can we not do what even blizzard figured out was a good idea and select some maps we just don't want to play on in ranked?

It's a hell of a lot easier to play zerg when you know you won't get steppes of war.

Ye that's would be great if we have option to ban some maps in ranked, and this helps to some decks a lot. That works perfect in CoH ranked games.

this... is so importend!
With the Division concept ther are just som combination of maps+division that result in near garanted outcom.. More caranteed if the players have the same skilllvl..
so pls, let us ban 1 map so we can get away from garanted losses just cause we play a specific division..

But in the end, this would be helpfull for the multiplayer, so nahhh, we will never get it.. Just like evry other good feater they just could have coppyed from CoH

I don't like map banning. Sometimes you should be at a disadvantage. Keeps things fresh.

nothing is better then seeing half the map being a big fat forest aganst 101st/ canadians.. or better.. hedg heaven aganst 3FJ?
What a grat feeling of alredy knowing you loose the game if your opponent is at least evenly skilled~ Thats keeps it real fresh~

In ranked, please no, but in quick play, (please) yes, but others should know it otherwise you miss each other.

In ranked I want some challenge, it would value down ranked. Wasn't there something similar in Aow?
You both played ranked, and both of you have chosen a favourite map, instead of a white list, and if possible, both sides had a meeting on one of both players favourites (that may be possible in ranked; AoW Ranked was PERFECT! Just copy it!)

I remember C&C generals had white lists on quick game search (was it some kind of ranked mode? I think not)
That is ofc a good game to orientate, even though it could be improved. Only Steel divisions has a higher demand to the quality, which players will put their buy decision on. The concerns about ranked/quick play are micro small things, but also just as vital. You already did it better than anything I have seen in AoW (you did many things better than I have ever seen, until today, in that game), so the only question is, how much do you lay on top of that now. (I am the navigator... follow the Kanes Voice :D)

Ah, but it also means that good players have to keep their game on even against people they are better than. Randomness and uncontrollable imbalance isn't great for tournaments, but it works just fine for an Elo based system.

I would agree if certain divisionmatchups did not change as drastically on certain terrain types, like big forests, and there were no maps where certain terraintypes are too prevalent/ in too important places.

There should be no matchup where if two equal players meet with good decks one has 70 or more winrate (which could easily be the case). Factors that determine this are certain units in combinations with certain terraintypes.

I dont care if this gets prevented by mapveto, deckveto (meaning you have to search with multiple deck, yes, yes I know it is not going to happen...), or on the other hand by balancing and mapdesignchoices. But it should not happen.

You actually CAN adapt a division that is weak e.g. in forest to be more effective in that. and not only at high cost or only a bit. But its good!

I have made an impressive experience with the 17.SS on Mont Ormel, where I have seen, that the forest soakes a lof of infantry from you, but the one running out first will be the looser, so I dropped 2 packets of infantry, and tried to play with only like 10squads in phase A, and 1-2 packs in phase B (some storm pioneers to tidy up the rest, I have seen many people pointing it out like that).
The wonder was: With less infantry I was more effective, because I used more light vehicles and artillery and mortars, and that did do the trick.

So I am of the opinion (and made experience and observations), that you have generally and lawishly through ALL divisions much power, to play a weakness of a division THAT well, that you can more than just e.g. survive, if you have a weak phase A in your division, that 12.SS, 17.SS and to some part also 91.LL seemingly have, but you can trick the weakness, to even clear the map decisively, and even against higher income. It also works against humans.

My best hope is that the people understand that the adapting is possible, that would make the game so much interesting, nerfing the game would be very sad for the game.

Two months later: Colombelles 1v1 only in ranked...:D

Or every map with a forest banned, so players can play their precious Panzer Lehr everytime.

No, you dont understand the idea. You will be able to ban 2-3 maps of 15, and your enemy can do the same, so you will choose from list of 10-12 maps. That was common practice in CoH and that helps to some divisions a lot, also eugens can understand what kind of maps is enjoyable and balanced for players and they will add more balanced maps in map packs. Some maps in Wargame rd was literally cancer, especially Tropic Thunder, if you playing with slow deck on this map you will never win, and map veto can solve that problem.

I actually thought Eugen would implement maps rotation, which would've been alright compromise for me. Say there's a number of maps from the pool for a week or two, then rotation occurs. It would keep things fresh enough for me.
