The sheer number of provinces that the German region seems to be getting makes Italy look a little mild. I like that the names are now more consistent.

I never really understood what people mean by cannot run higher then speed X. I am pretty sure I have a shittier computer than everyone in this thread and I can run speed 5 perfectly fine, it is just pathetically slow compared to people here.

They probably mean that at speed 5 the game doesn't run faster than at speed X.

Fife is just the land between the Forth and Tay rivers. It was wealthy but wasn't big too small to be truly represented on EUIV map. Lanarkshire is to the south of Stirling so adding Fife into it would make no sense. I'd sooner add actual Fife to Lothian and rename Fife Perthshire.
Yeah, fife is like the coast @ kircaldy right? so on the picture of the provinces that I had on the other page it would make more sense to be put in the lanarkshire province as it has no borders with lothian

Is finnish Lapland still going to be represented by a single province? Would be nice if it was split into multiple parts so that it could represent the various border shapes that have historically occurred.

It's that I doubt Poles were the majority in the area back then.
Now, if you want to turn into poles all the people that considered themselves Poles or tied to a Polish state it changes everything, but I'm afraid that's not the case in game.
The Poles in Red Ruthenia were of course still a minority overall and largely limited to Lviv and other towns. There were also numerous pockets of Poles spread across the rest of Ukraine and Lithuania. By the same token Poznan and indeed, most cities in Eastern Europe - would be German.

Here's an ethnographic map of the region from the year 1858: http://i.imgur.com/qAOEhaQ.jpg

Although that's just me guessing, I doubt Sinop was very 'Greeky' during the time period EU4 is covering. I think the following quote serves best as an answer to this quandary:
As far as L'vov is concerned, it should follow the rules of the game. If the province culture should be it's capitol's culture, L'vov should be Polish. If the province culture should be the culture of the countryside, L'vov should be Ruthenian.

EDIT: Why can't I preview my post and errors involving quotations occur, huh? This is seriously messed up. I can't fix this post. Some parts of it seem to not exist when I try editing, yet they are there. I think it's some issue with how the forums displays HTML. Ohh I think I managed to fix it.

EDIT: It's just a thought, but if the provinces colonized by Greeks back in the ancient days - before the time period EU4 covers - are still presented as Greek-cultured, while being separated from their roots and surrounded by completely different religion and what not. And lands in Americas colonized by Spain are Spanish, the same way lands in the Siberian region become Russian after Muscovy colonizes them. Yet all of the colonized places had their native population with their own culture to begin with. Following this school of thought, some places in the Ukrainian region should definitely be Polish.

Fife is between Edinburgh and Dundee

Fife is between Edinburgh on the Forth river (Lothian) and Dundee on the Tay river (Aberdeen or Angus) it's where St. Andrews which had a university ( founded in 1410) and Dunfermline the ancient Capital of Scotland. To the West was Perthshire (Atholl , Balquhidder, Methven etc.) South of Perthshire was Stirlingshire with Stirling Castle which basically controlled moving North. South were Galloway and the Borders. The West Coast was mainly Argyll or Strathclyde if you include Glasgow. North Was Ross, Sutherland and Caithness. Then you had the Inner and Outer Hebrides.

So I'd probably have as Provinces: West Coast going North: Galloway, Strathclyde, Ross.
East Coast going North: Lothian, Fife, Angus.
In the Middle: Perthshire
North: Sutherland and the Hebridean Isles.

It's 9 provinces. Names may not be perfect for each time period but I think over the scope of game they make most sense.

Gniezno is probably still the capital of Kalisz province.
I think Notec got its name from the Prussian Netze-Distrikt in the area (which derived its name from the Notec river, Netze in German). Its capital might be Bydgoszcz (Bromberg).

I've three really important questions:

1. When is this coming out?

2. Will the previous expansions be bundled together into a collection when this is launched?

3. When is this coming out?

^ This. Hopefully, since the province was added to the game, we get Montferrat as an actual nation, and it just hadn't been implemented yet on the Italy map teaser last week. It would really need an achievement to place the Palaiologoi back on the Byzantine throne once Byzantium is gone! :D

Overall, though, the European map improvements have all looked very good so far!
The Palaiologoi ruled Montferrat?

Nowy Sacz! The land of my ancestors is represented in game finally!!! WOO! [Well, Nowy Targ is more accurate, but in-game it looks like that area is part of the new Nowy Sacz provinces. Close enough - and definitely better than being part of that Spisz monster in Hungary from current setup.]

Overall, nice changes to the map. The whole north-eastern HRE area looks more interesting to play: Bohemia, Saxony, Brandenberg, Pommerania, Teutons, etc. This, plus the changes to Bavaria make me want to finally get an Ironman game in within the HRE. Current setup has Austria as the top power by too large a margin - this patch has the potential to close that gap a bit.
