Yup, all independent until France conquered them in the 1500's(?). I think Metz was also a Free Imperial City, so the Bishopric was located somewhere else.
I dont know how accurate this map is, but you cant see the connection of lithuania to the baltic sea either. Btw.: The prince-bishopric of Ermland could be a vassal at the start or a releasable tag with a core on Ermland. Historically it was first a vassal of the Teutonic Order and after 1466 a vassal of Poland.

North Sea? this is the Baltic.. And while there is a Sternberg in Mecklenburg, the new province is part of Brandenburg (formerly southern Neumark).
Pomerania probably has one more province, too: Vorpommern is likely split into Stralsund and Greifswald (you can make out ..wald on the screenshot).
Pomorskie looks like it is missing its German name (for the auto-renamer), should be Pommerellen while controlled by a German tag.

I miss it already. I was sincerely hoping that the Memel shape change was into a cube. :'(

Nope. It was Marienburg until 1454. and Königsberg after that.

Yes, but it is changed(look at the crown in TO), I made it as an extension to the list of changes, and I believe it was in 1466 when the polish took the western parts including Marienburg
There should be an event then that lets the TO change capitals and get a bonus for whatever reason it changed.

I'm guessing the land border between the TO & the LO is a balance thing.

Imperfect but decent map. Lithuanian coast was almost nonexistant.
I think it doesn't say good things about strategic planning of Lithuanians that they expanded into faraway Ukrainian steppes endangered by Tatars/Russians while completely ignoring Baltic and grand Baltic sea trade...

Basically, whenever you see a capitalized "Three Bishoprics", they refer to these three. They were so well known as such that when we were doing the "Give everyone National Ideas" a few weeks ago, I included them in my Lorraine National Idea set, since they aren't represented in the game otherwise...
It does seem odd, especially given the parallel example of Sweden, which definitely made the most it could out of its similarly almost non-existent west coast.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed that vorpommern had been split, so probably a five province pomerania
The only nations in this picture with no changes is Denmark and Sweden.
I'm sure there will be some changes in Northern Scandinavia and Finland. I'm going to predict that the north will get more provinces with the lowest development possible and Finland will be completely remade since it's one of the last regions in the game that look kinda ugly.
You monsters, now I won't have the excuse of pretty borders to absolutely shaft the Russia player in my EU4 multiplayer games whenever it comes to drawing pretty borders in Eastern Europe.
