It would be ridiculous if Tibetans got a portrait pack but the Mongols stayed the same. The Cumans look more Mongol than the Mongols do.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's because the vanilla portraits were meant to represent the generic idea of what European medieval nobles looked like, ie what French nobles looked like.

Still, I agree that the French could definitively use a facelift.

That may be true, but it would be nice for the French/Occitan to have their own portraits. At least they should maybe have unique clothes?

For now, the vanilla look does fit the French for the most part. It would be nice to give the non Russian Slavs a new look. I want Bulgarians and Serbians to look different than a Frenchman in Orleans.

Honestly all I want to see is a new set for the various Slavic peoples and then a rehash of the old Western and Arabic portraits so they're in CrackdToothGrin's art style.

Yeah..., I couldn't wait for Paradox to come around on the Western and Southern Slavs, and Magyars, which, being the same as Western European, was immersion breaking; so I modded my own.

I'm going to wait and see if any cultures on the actual map will get those portraits.
Oh, and I'll need to wait for someone to post an updated blank map, so that I can properly attach new provinces.

It'll be tough. They expanded k_khotan and k_mongolia by a good deal, in addition to the new Tibetan provinces. We can't quite see the new layout in its entirety in any of the screenshots.

I recall in one of the dev diaries the OP mentioned he was planning on doing it. Shouldn't take them long since they basically just need to add Tibet in and label it "Chinese".

Aren't there 2 portrait packs? One for Chinese peeps, and the other one for Tibetans?
I still didn't get my hands on JD, so I can't say for sure.

My bad then- I haven't played that much Jade Dragon to really see the difference. More variety the better I say though.
