Well just about everything new with Hoi4 looks good. Even the supply seems workable until the anticipated DLC love.

Really, the only thing that seems highly likely to irk, disappoint, and cause more micro is the Map. The political filter just obscures an easy overview of terrain and features.

I noticed several streams ago; but was waiting for release to see properly. But the last stream just confirmed it. Even at close zooms, when terrain is most clear the filter is obscuring terrain, urban and features like ports and airfields. (Check min 44:05 for just one example).

But then on a wider zoom out much of the terrain is hard to make out- which is not good for a strategic/operational overview for attack plans.

Can we turn that Political colour filter down or off?

Assuming it's similar to HOI3, options exist for almost a complete revamp of fonts, font sizes, interface (buttons, positions, techs etc), country colours/intensity and graphical overlay of terrain, and I don't see why it should be so different if the engine is similar in execution.

Admittedly, 3D terrain work will take quite a bit more design to achieve though but given enough time I'm sure someone will come up with this.

Given the work the devs have put in, I'm assuming there'll be a way to turn off pretty much all the overlays like day/night cycle (shown already), weather effects, for either easier viewing or for older computers to run smoothly at speed 5.

Yeah, you're probably right. Hard to believe that with all that QA nobody else noticed it.
