There is a slight problem toget grip of the geographical positions of all small countries in central europe at 1492, it would be very nice if someone, ie a beta guy, could post a complete map over europe. I know this takes some time to get a detailed map cut and pasted over europe done, but if someone could send me quite detailed ss(screenshots) so detailed that you can see the country names to me I could take the time to glue the map together, this would help much for us gameplanners.

At least the ones with just domestic historyteaching 'til the swedish 'golden age' and from then we've only seen fragments of the geographical positions. :(

The reason is probably that they had no norwegian Beta-testers.

Lubricus,

I'm afraid we will have to live with that, same sort of mistakes have been made with the dutch part of the map and Sapura mentioned he wasn't happy with parts of Poland either. It seems it's extremely difficult to make changes to the map.

What's worse is that it's not even Norway you're talking about, it's Denmark! :D
I know, I know, the Netherlands didn't exist either so we're more or less in the same boat. However, I believe we stand a somewhat better chance than the Norwegians to liberate ourselves in the game :)

Sapura and Gryph, nice job done, thank you both :)

greetings, Oranje

Actually, Norway existed as a kingdom within the Kalmar Union in 1492. Formally it was in union with Denmark for a long time even after Sweden seceded. Had the will existed, it could probably have left the union at the same time Sweden did.

It is interesting to note that Sweden, not Denmark, kept using the heraldic Three Crowns (as seen on the Swedish Hockey team) of the Kalmar Union.

Well at first I thought those screens were taken from different distances and making one goodlooking pic from them all would be impossible, I checked them out just a moment ago and after a little closer check I found out that they had the same distance, so here I post a merged pic.

and as I read in some previous thread, this is not much from me, just a little contribution to the people on this forum.

Actually the three crowns were first used by King Birger of Sweden to repressent the united crowns of Sweden, Norway and Scania(!) long before the formation of Kalmar Union. And the Danish kings did continue to use them until they agreed to stop doing so, at one of the peace treaties of the 17th century.

Actually it was used long before that.
One theory is from the unification of Västra Götaland, Östra Götaland and Svealand.

And another theory, pointing at an even older origin, is that it is the symbol for the crowns of Tiundaland, Fjädrundaland and Attundaland, the ancient kingdoms that makes up modern day Uppland.

The EU-map is now even more complete. If some beta tester want to take a look and take the missing screens I could complete the map.

Otherwise I fell quite satified =)

on the screenshot, pretty much all of the Polish provinces to the east of the dnieper river are have Russian emblems. on my other screenshots, those same provinces have Polish Emblems. is that a result of yet another Beta update?

Well these are the screens I got from Sapura, and they show the date at the top statusbar. I assume these screens are from the latest beta which should be the map most likley to be in the box as I recive not soon enough.

Conclution, your pics are prolly out of date, or something =(, guess that makes Poland a bit weaker, but still strong.
[even more likley Dark Knight is right bout those marks, I got you wrong there, thought of provinces]
