I claim the Polynesian Triangle.

F1.large.jpg

Someone has already claimed New Zealand, and Hawaii is already taken (although, with Mega America, I think you would be fine to take a little bit of the Island chain).

Okay, I've been going through every states history and have tried to create a readable format. I will put it up as a Google Doc, so everybody can continue to fill in their nations history to further flesh out this world I keep on getting blocked at every attempt to put this up by new nations, so I'll add in the Jews in a bit.

Heiliges Friesland - Holy Frisia - God's Lighttower

Population: 17,1 Million
Government: Constitutional Theocracy
Capital: Hamburg (3,7 Million)
Papal Seat: The Lighttower of God, St. Peter's Isle (Helgoland)
Ethnicity: 40% Frisian, 32% Schleswegian(A Danish/German culture mix), Teutons(25%), others
Language: Frisk (Dutch with more German words and a lot of Latin words for officials)
Following the Uprising after the loss of Roma Christianity in Western Europe faced a fundamental crisis which the Frisian Count St. Nebgert (one of the most holy saints of the Church) tackled in his famous "Letters to God". Nebgert, a noble with an education without equal for his time, helped to reform the church and distributed his heritage to the church. In the years following this the Church lands shrinked and grew following wars and uprisings. The most important reformer after Nebgert, St. Elfreda the Wise, pushed for a rethinking of the Canon and essentially is responsible for the Church of today.
The Pope usually relinquishes his name and possessions upon election by the whole of (Papal) Christianity and begins to live in poverty and moderation on St. Peter's Isle in the Fortress Monastery of God's Lighttower. His days are filled with studies of holy scripts, gardening and other handwork as he embodies the ideal of a hard working man. His name is not important because he embodies man how God wished him to be and as that he should be able to be identified just as God's creation and not some individual with vanity and vices.
Papal candidates are brought forward by the assemblies of priests around the world who may or may not be married (that is left to the national chapters as well as sexual liberties although a female or gay pope never has been elected it is theorethical possible) because upon election they renounce everything worldly apart from work and are expected to shun physical temptations.
While the Church holds a lot of influence in Holy Frisia the society is actually pretty moderate and open to the world. Every city and country region got democratic elections and ruling and the Pope is just the head of the country in a ceremonal way. One of the richer countries Holy Frisia leads in the green technology and yearly gifts the "Prizes of Humanity" for scientific, environmental and societal accomplishments all around the world regardless of religion and ethnicity because the Holy Church stands open for everyone and does not judge because Judgement is God's Domain. Recently Holy Frisia followed other examples and legalized gay marriage after a new Pope was elected and spoke in favor of love in general between two adults able of consent.

Brief History: During the initial spread of islam, arab traders and holy warriors brought the faith to the Tamazight tribes of Morocco, bringing the arabic language with them. A holy army driven back from a failed conquest of Carthage instead decided to conquer the Tamazight tribes, and form an Arabic kingdom of Morocco. The kingdom survived in relative peace for centuries, until the fall of the muslim emirates in Iberian drove an exodus of muslims to Morocco. Somewhat isolated from other islamic nations, the finances of Morocco declined. Seeking new trade routes, in 1467 an expedition was sent westward, believing that a faster route to India could be found. What they discovered instead was a new world, though they would not discover that until nearly half thirty years later, when the Rumite mapmaker Amerigo al-Vespucci demonstrated the geographical inconsistencies. The new continents were then named after him, the Americas.

The colonial holdings of the Moroccan kingdom expanded to include much of the Caribbean and South America. For centuries it lasted, avoiding conflicts with other nations, and focusing on trade and wealth accumulation. However most of the wealth benefited the arab elite, and was also seen by some as blasphemous. The zealous Tamazight tribes became restless, and sparked multiple revolts throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, being defeated each time. However a quick succession of weak kings in the 20th century gave the tribes an opportunity, which they gladly took in 1927. The royal family was exterminated, and the Arab populace in Morocco came under fierce attack. Those who could fled to the colonies, with the Tamazight tribes declaring the birth of a new state, the Greater Islamic Republic of Tamazight. After securing Morocco, they began an assault on the colonies, seeking to wiped out those who still opposed them. For nearly 30 years war went on in the colonies, with extended and ferocious guerrilla warfare seeing atrocities by all sides. Finally in 1962 a peace settlement was reached, dividing the Moroccan colonies between Tamazight and a newly created Arabic state.

The government created in 1928 for the Greater Islamic Republic of Tamazight was intended to be a representative republic that would allow the various tribes to cooperate. However this quickly fell apart, and it was only by opposition to the Arabs and unification of religion that the nation survived. The importance of islam to the Tamazights quickly allowed several prominent Imams to take the reigns of the government, settling disputes between the tribes and conducting the war effort. While many thought this was only a crisis measure, the imams have retained control of the state long since the end of the colonial war. Their puppet party, the Islamic Unity Party, controls a vast majority of the state legislature.
You have to be kidding me, Aedan.

GM, I assume all claims on the initial thread are not counted?

If that is the case, I claim all of the remaining North African lands, that is the territories stretching from Algeria to Libya, additionally some desert land to the south, much like OTL.

I'm pretty sure both of those nations would try to dislodge their religious rival, but oh well. Also, I just re-read Super-Persia and it is sort of amazing.

Date of Max Extent: Current
Location: Polynesian Triangle, Islands within it bar the island of Hawai'i.
Brief History: With the colossal genocide committed against the Indonesians and Malagasy by the Latinists, the Polynesian peoples of the pacific saw themselves as under-threat. The Great Chiefs from all over the Islands were called to meet in New Zealand: on what came to be known as the "2 year Summit". They decided to end the conflicts between the peoples, and adopt some standard concepts: Such as the Law of the Shattered Paddle. Over-time, as naval technology became better, the summits became more frequent and more important with it eventually developing into a bicameral Parliament: with a two-per-state upper house and a PR lower house. The PM creates the government while the King is mostly a figurehead, although the Monarch traditionally has been an apt military commander. Each state governs itself for the most part, due to the nature of the confederation. Over-time, there have been attempts at cultural centralisation: like the creation of "Polynese" which is a united Polynesian language which while not spoken by everyone, is intelligible to most (if not all) native dialect speakers. The State has no solid industrial base, and must rely on trade with its neighbours in Australia. With the advent of information technology, Polynesia is gaining strength; with many dubbing it "The Nation made for the internet". It sponsors rebels on the island of Hawai'i against the "Trumpist dictatorship", and naval skirmishes between the Polynesians and the FEA are quite common: with many in the Parliament calling for war for to reclaim "Our Homeland".

Flag will come when I find a good one.

Official Name:
The Autonomous Islands of the Canary
Commonly Used Name(s): Canary Islands or the Pleasure Islands
Government Type: Oligarchy
Current Ruling Party (if applicable): Houses of Eight
Capital: Las Palmas
Head of State: Louis Palma (unofficially)
Cultures: Too many to mention. (Partly because of the massive different cultures compared to OTL being too many for me to keep track of)
Languages: Love and lust doesn’t need just one language, (French I guess)
Religions: Cults of Dionysus, Liber, Aphrodite, Eros, Hermaphroditus, Peitho, Philotes and Ganymede.
Population: 6 million (majority is tourists at any given time, and as such the actual local population is closer to 2 million)
Founding Date: 150 years ago
Date of Max Extent: Now
Location: Canary Islands
Brief History:
The Canary Island while having always been there, came into effect in its more current state roughly 150 years ago when the first Palma became Exiled by the western Emperor. Palma however still had power and money in the extremes, and as such he bought large parts of property within the Canary Islands. Within the next two decades, Palma had consolidated his power, and others soon followed him from across the world. Billionaires investing their fortunes into the different parts of the Canary. The Islands became a refuge for Political outcasts, and as such to protect themselves they eventually formed into a federation of Islands, into an Oligarchy of 8 prominent families that ruled the different parts of the islands and their wealth.

Over the next coming 70 years, as the world became worse and worse, the Canary took a new course. They had rulers and people from all over the world, and as such they declared that no current official religion would take state credit. Instead every major house picked an ancient god in which they would follow, there was liberty and peace. They didn’t care for the demands of old and their rigid traditions. Freedom was what would rule the Canaries.

As international tourism rose, so did the wealth of the Canary, to such a degree that it has among the highest, if not outright highest GDP per Capita in the world. The Canary became a massive tourist attraction for people, especially the rich, seeking to get away from the shit world in which they lived. The Canaries became infamous among religious men for their orgies, their deities, their parties, their consumption of wine and other pleasurable products. Race, religion, gender and so forth does not matter on the Islands. If a man wish to lay with a man, then no one will bat an eye, two women, or a more conventional order is all up to the individuals. Marriage is frowned upon in the Canary, not just homosexual marriage, but the idea in general, as it is viewed as shackling one in place. This doesn’t mean that it is banned, simply not preferred.

If the Ko te Moutere Amui is known as “The Nation made for the internet” Then the The Autonomous Islands of the Canary is known as “The Nation made for the gossip magazines and News headlines” On the 21 of June every year the great Zenith festival is held, it is filled with wine, food and orgies from dusk till dawn. A renowned saying of the festival goes, that you are only allowed to stop to drink or eat, if you do it from the body parts of attendants. The festivals, orgies and so forth also change to religious costumes. Everything goes, and it is often that the leading families are dressed as gods or other personas, such as Jesus, Allah and Buddha, just to name a few of the many hundreds. A great scandal occurred when a boy from a prominent house, dressed as Jesus, was seen making out with another boy dressed as the Pope. To say it was a scandal in the Canary was a lie, but it certainly seemed to be in other parts of the world.

Another scandal comes from the Nickname of Louis Palma’s nephew, he is often referred to as “The Holy Seed” due to the rumours of his father. Louis sister got pregnant at the age of 15 with a son, during the time a great friendship had formed between his Holiness the Pope and Louis, as such it is often rumoured that the pope is the father. While it has never been confirmed or denied by his Holiness, the much older man has taken a certain interest in the little nephew.

As no proper care for religion is taken, it has led to several terrorist attacks, which luckily has declined during the recent years. It was perhaps to be expected that fanatics would react to the depiction of their most holy saviors being defiled in all manner of ways, but the Oligarchy was still shocked when the first attack came. To protect its citizens and tourists, a new intelligence agency was formed, one which can now claim to be top tier and world renown, stopping multiple terrorist attack, both in the Canaries, but also but tipping other governments if intel was found. Gaining them good international will.

The Canaries also has great healthcare, allowing it to be free, paid for by taxes and so forth, and at large by the vast amount of foreign capital coming into the nation by tourists. As such all citizens can come and be treated. Abortions are also free, pregnancies being common in the islands, as well as treatments against STD’s, STD’s being something the Oligarchy is heavily trying to combat, by prevention, as well as new research. Many foreigners also take advantage of the free abortions, as it is not limited to citizens, thus travelling here, getting the procedure and travelling back home again. These women especially come from less open regions (pun intended) of the world. And education is also free for all citizens.

One of the prides of the Canaries are also Canary Airlines, one of the biggest in the world due to the Canaries attraction of tourists. They have planes going to every destination possible, with planes for both the luxurious and the more affordable to the common masses.

All of this is due to the vast foreign capital being spent in the Canary, making them insanely wealthy, and also allowing them to carry out foreign investments and improve the world where they can. However, it is also funded in part by the lack of military. While the Islands have security forces and police, they have no military, and as such spare a lot of money in this regard which goes to other projects. So far no one has invaded the islands, in part being to the vast investment made by many different billionaires by many different nations, keeping it protect from foreign attacks or they would lose their money. However should the Islands one day be invaded by a foreign power, it would be interesting to see how long they would be able to put up a fight, if at all.

A much more sexier and decadent Switzerland. Laddie, you have the support of the Mighty Japanese-Finnish Alliance.

For anyone interested in real life comparison concerning my countries:

Red Eagle is about as rich as today's Poland, got a military compareable to Czechia and Croatia combined and about as religious as Eastern Germany.

Holy Frisia is about as rich as Belgium, got a military like the Baltic States combined and is as religious as France.

The Hawai'i Liberation Front
The island of Hawai'i is seen as a major part of the Polynesian patrimony, however it is the only area claimed by the United Islands that is not owned by them: instead run by the FEA. While this wasn't the first time that islands in the Hawaiian archipelago was occupied by a foreign power: with the baltic confederation setting up a manned out-post in the 1600s, the FEA brutally repressed the native culture and any protesters calling for union with the rest of Polynesia. The island of Hawai'i was the only one in the archipelago that was not a part of Polynesia: although it is the largest island, hosting the city of Honolulu. In the late 1990s, Ko te Mua Whakaoranga Hawai'i (HLF) formed to remove the FEA from the islands through violent overthrow; with it being unofficially supported by Polynesia. The HLF have committed acts of terrorism against the troops and ships stationed at Hawai'i and has even attacked the "civilian" administration: leading to martial law being officially declared. The HLF is gain support amongst the native population of the island, however as the war continues, many question its worth: is liberation worth the death of innocents?

Official Name: Aztec Empire

CxJiNLG.png

Commonly Used Name(s): Mexico, Aztecs.
Government Type: Constitutional Empire
Capital: Tenochtitlan
Head of State: Huetlatoani Motecuzoma X
Cultures: Main Culture is the Nahua culture, but contains Tlaxcaltec, Otomi, and other minor native cultures inside its borders
Languages: Nahuatl is the main language spoken, but many minor native languages are recognized as well
Religions: Main religion is Aztec Polytheism, led by the Emperor who is the spiritual leader of the religion.
Population: 10 million
Founding Date: 1521
Date of Max Extent: 1821
Location: Main areas of control are the Valley of Mexico where the capital resides, and the areas surrounding what is central Mexico

History: The Aztec nation was founded as a confederacy of three city states of the Nahua culture; Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, and Tlacopan. The three city states would form a confederacy with the leader of Tenochtitlan earning the title of Huetlatoani, Leader of the Aztecs. The Aztec civilization would go on to become one of the strongest Native American nations in pre-colonial America, forming a strong civilization with a population of over 5 million inhabitants. In the early 1500s however, that all changed. The Spanish led by Hernan Cortes landed in the eastern portion of Aztec civilization. Cortes tried to negotiate with the natives for gold and wealth, but when the Aztec leader Motecuzoma II refused, Cortes held him hostage. Motecuzoma was killed in the following days as he tried to restore order. The Spanish were forced to flee from Tenochtitlan, but left behind a devastating plague of smallpox, a disease the natives had not experienced. Half of the Aztec population was killed by the smallpox epidemic, a drop that only recovered in the 1700s. Cortes would return from his defeat seeing the Aztecs weakened. He hired natives discontent with Aztec rule to attack Tenochtitlan, and captured the other cities of the Aztecs, including Texcoco and Tlacopan. However, Cortes was repelled by the natives after suffering massive casualties. Cortes would be forced to return to Spain before he could launch a second attack. The Spanish would take over the lands North and South of the Aztecs as well, surrounding the native people on both borders. The leader of Tenochtitlan would take the defeat of the Spanish and reconquer lost lands. With Tenochtitlan the only city-state of the Aztecs to stay intact following the war with the Spanish, he would centralize the Aztec civilization into an Empire, with the leader of the Tenochtitlan city-state being the Emperor of the Aztecs. The Aztec Empire would fend off more and more Spanish incursions as the decades rolled on. Though the Empire had some internal problems to deal with. The many cultures and languages that made up the Aztec Empire would result in internal struggles among the cultures. In 1645, the Otomi culture revolted against the Aztecs. It would be a bloody battle, but the Aztec Empire would hold firm. As the centuries rolled on, the Aztec began trading with the west, most notably in Spain's colonial enemies; France, England, and Portugal, who wanted to undermine Spanish dominance in the Americas. They acquired guns and western technology. In the 1800s, as the Spanish Empire began to fall apart, the Aztec took this opportunity to expand into the Yucutan peninsular in 1821, in order to unite the Maya and Aztec civilizations under one flag. This would only be brief, as the ruling Spanish-speaking population revolted against the Aztecs to form their own nation. The annexation of the Yucutan was their maximum extent. The Aztec would also be hit by a wave of revolution in 1848, prompting the Aztec Emperor to create a legislature and a constitution, affirming the rights of all cultures in the area. Today, the Aztec Empire is a Constitutional Empire, with Tenochtitlan being a big center of banking and industry. Tenochtitlan is currently one of the richest cities in the world, and the richest city in Latin America.
