Any ideas how to delete those grain fields and surface colors (tarmac, gabblestone etc)?

The answer is to RIGHT-CLICK on the surface you want to remove when you have a "surface brush" active.

it would be nice. I've seen your vids, but they are a bit advanced ... maybe you could make a vid showing how to make a basic city (without going into details) ... I mean - a residential block, industrial block, that's it
