The current zoomed-out SD N44 map border is a field of scattered aerial maps & photos, which seems to be view-point force-restricted downward, in the absence of a final map-border graphics solution.

Would it be possible:

1/ For the background beyond the modelled 3D black and white SD N44 map, to be a Google-Earth style globe with a max. zoom-out of about 340 KM?

2/ For this spherical GE style globe to be toggle-able, from above about 2 KM altitude, to spherical 1:500,000 or 1:1,000,000 approx. map graphics based on:
a. OKH/OKW daily situation mapping from wwii-photos-maps.com or similar, which is appropriate to the battle time-point, such as the 9th July 1944 'OKH WFSt. Op.' daily situation map extract below?
AND
b. Similar Allied daily situation mapping of the same date?

Three toggle-steps in total above 2 KM altitude. Only the SD N44 3D map on black and white Google-Earth style globe, below 2 KM. No need for the globe to spin around, like Google-Earth ;-). Just remain centered on the relevant SD N44 battle map, with a view of the wider regional geography & strategic context, to a distance of about 1500KM or so. The situation map based graphics, would need a legible detail radius of only about 500 KM.
