Many Flags AAR (Experimental Multi-Nation AAR)

Hi there! I'm sure I'm not the first to have this idea, but I wanted to do something different with my first AAR.

My premise is that I'll start in 1399 with default rules. However, I will AAR the nation I get the most requests for. Then, after reporting on that for a time (maybe 10 years), I will change nations while keeping the same game running! So I could even end up fighting a former nation I controlled.
To make things more interesting, I'll let you, the reader, not only choose my nation, but my general plan of action and goals!

I'm not great at EU3, so this is a good way for me learn, experience a variety of nations

A few rules about choices:
- No 1/2 province states. I am not ashamed to admit that it is probably beyond me to do much with such a state in such a short time.
- I won't do the same nation more than once except if separated by many years.
- I won't do Byzantium since I've done them already.

So, how about it? I'm in for nominations for 1399, choose the nation/objective!

My vote:
Nation: Hungary
Objectives: Save Constantinople from being conquored by the turks. Establish influence over the balkans. Gain an ally and during the game don't abuse thier friendship. Make sure they get something out of a war as well.

Should be interesting.
Alternitively do you think you oculd pull off a WC in only 10 years?

I say you start as Burgundy! And get some more border provicnes with france and make it impossibe for them to enter Germany.

I certainly can't do a WC in ten years. Maybe as I learn more, but right now I'm still learning as I go!

Okay, looks like Burgundy has it with 3 votes! Therefore I will do Burgundy first, then Hungary.

Still a couple of hours left, and then I'll start playing. I'm planning to do this in the form of one post every 1-2 years depending how often and long I can play. I'll be doing in semi story mode (with liberal use of pics too, I hope!) so we'll see how it goes.

Form every nation you can during this AAR. Or help them to archieve this. France should be annexed and formed again with Burgundy (for example).

Goal: Control Scandinavia, Germany and Russia( The european part at least).

Depending how long you spend on the first two, see if you can play Bohemia during the Hussite period. Try to convert, then fight off a first wave of invaders. Bail if all is lost.

October 1399 - October 1400

OK, year 1 of Burgundy! Tactical advice and tips would be most appreciated as I am still rather new to all of this!

I was going to do this IC, but I think it might be easier for now to do it straight up.

Anyway, the rules I chose (note lucky nations):

And yes, I chose Burgundy. Curious that they have two divided halves, with the biggest, richest area separated from the capital! The goal would be to reunited the halves.

The initial setup is not so wonderful, but hardly awful. 4,000 troops, surrounded my many small nations, and a big web of alliances and vassals across the region.

Government sliders were fairly average. I moved my slider towards Aristocracy. Because this is a short campaign the price cuts, extra diplomats and better leaders is attractive.

My King is fairly average. No great soldier, which is a shame, I think. Ah well.

Now, onto the actual bones of my plan. My plan is to build a holding force in the south, while forming a large army in the north. The plan would then to form alliances with both Brittany and England to give me some hard backing to counter the French. This was my main idea and set up in the first year. By the end of the first year I had armies of 4,000 and 9,000 in south and north, and alliances with both nations.

I was given a rather silly mission. I have no intention of taking on the HRE at this stage.

My ally England declared war on Connacht defeated their armies, and is even now beseiging their capital. I hope they do it quick, and as soon as the place is annexed I plan to launch my war on France.

I also got some royal marriages and trade deals. Currently I've got a net gain of 30 ducats per year. This wasn't helped by the French embargo.

So there we are. Not much to report. Advice, strategy and tips are welcome. How do I declare war on France to avoid a punishing -5 stability kick? My normal course would be to declare war on a minor which is guarenteed by France, but I don't see any!
