Weapon and Naval Supplies manufacturies are great for hitting up demand for metals and supplies. Universities are good for more magistrates and one on your capital can give an increadible manpower boosting event. Fine Arts Academies are good for cultural tradition up to a point. The rest are barely worth it but if you are swimming in money, why not? If you're a good trader and not blobbing you can certainly get one in every province.

My question is, what affect the cost of each manufactory?.

I notice wildvariations in price, with time they can even return to the base price. Somebody have mentioned land size (something i suspected), but also army buildings. Has anybody got precise numbers about this?

As of 5.1 it's scaled with manpower. In the latest 5.2 beta, it's now a flat rate which increases for each one you have per 8 provinces.
