Manual trade problem?

I got the retail version of v2! Yay!

So I am playing as Two Sicilies which has State controlled economy so I wanted to stockpile some essential goods: iron, timber and machine parts.

So I select those items in the trade window, uncheck automate, then leave buy/sell on buy and enter an amount in the slider then hit confirm. I repeat for all 3 items

I unpause the game.

Ok good I am getting some stock - but looking at the tooltips in the "stockpile" section I am getting confused and worried.

The numbers seem to be totally off and it is not correctly reporting buying or selling!

For example, one day I have 9.23 machine parts, next day I have 9.56 and the tooltip says yesterday I spent 191.60$ to buy 5.97 units. Huh? Luckily it doesnt seem to actually take so much from my treasury, it seems to be just a tooltip bug

Whats worse is sometimes it says yesterday I gained x amount Selling some units, meanwhile the item is set to stockpile (on buy)

Actually, yeah it looks like the AI is actually selling some of these goods - I dont want that! what's going on??

Have you got it set so that your POPs and factories can get their goods from your stockpile?

I do actually, good point.

However, for Iron and Machine Parts the UI says "Need 0.0 for pops" yet I am watching as my machine parts stock goes up and down buying and selling. Surely none of my pops are stealthily buying up my machine parts? I mean they can't be THAT hungry.... And artisans dont build their own factories

Artisans could certainly be using your iron, but probably not MPs. If you have any capis or factories though they could be buying MPs from your stockpile for projects/mainitence.

At the time, I had no factories being built.

And I have a state controlled economy with 12 capitalists across the whole country. I cant imagine them buying machine parts now?

In my Two Sicilies game, it actually took almost a month before they started buying anything, although I had plenty of money.

It looks like you have the button near the stockpile enabled, so you are telling your people and factories to buy from your stockpile. Can it be the problem?

Yes, pops, or factories (they need MP for upkeep), are buying from your stockpile and that is earning you some money.

But it also says 0.0 units are needed by pops.

who would be buying machine parts?

what pop demands that ?

Do you 12 capis have a project going on? Or do you have a save we could look at?
