Hello this is my first paradox game and I am really enjoying it but I am having a really hard time with the manpower aspect. As France I fight my wars and continuously build depots and civilized devolopments but the amount of manpower I get remains the same, about 9 thousand. So I try to be smart with my wars and fighting but my manpower is always reduced to 50 thousand or even once to 0. Are there any tips to significantly boosting my manpower and fighting such that it doesn't get so significantly diminished. In my current campaign I'm frightened because Russia has 192k manpower and I have 50 and I'm starting to get worried. Any tips from more experienced players would be appreciated. Thanks

Ive only got experience from playing Sweden but the best way to get more manpower (not counting in depots) is to CONQUER more manpower. And keep your losses at minimum, plan your campaign, dont drag the wars. You might be winning now but if you cant end the war you might be losing in 2 years. Declare, fight, win (preferably  ) end war. Use the peace to replenish your MP reserves. I for example tend to fight every 2nd year or so, works for my style of play and my country. Use various tactics for you flanks, default doesnt quite work as good as those. Ive raised my monthly manpower as Sweden from about 2k or something to 5.1k after getting just Denmark, Mecklenburg and Vyborg province from Russia.

if your playing as France and you can only accumulate a total of 50K then you are most likely getting some attrition. Check your armies and where they are stationed.

Thanks for your help. I've conquered and annexed several places but I think I crushed their armies to the point where they had no more manpower so I think I have gotten much from them. I havn't done different tactics for flanks so I'll see if that helps.
