It's '46 something and I thought it was a good idea to unify the State of Texas with the parts of Texas that Mexico owns and of to war I go. The AI put up a tough fight, but I wear Mexico down, and I start occupying some land when I see that I can now take the Manifest Destiny decision, giving me cores on pretty much all of northern Mexico. "Awesome", I think and press the button and presto the AI gives me a white peace. All confused my troops are now heading back home, some are wondering if it was just a dream.

Don't do manifest destiny during the war!

That's odd. I took that decision in my last two games while being at war with Mexico and nothing happened, except being able to regain cores as war goals (it also raises consciousness iirc). It certainly didn't end my war. Maybe it was because it was still me being called as Texas ally that was the start of my involvement?

Nope, doesn't force me into a peace at all. I suppose it's possible it worked in the versions before and after the demo but was broken in the demo, but are you sure you didn't just mis-click? Anyone else with the demo tried it?

Odd. I read the code for the event, and there is no scripted white peace. I had a Jacobin revolt at the same time. So far they had raised 2 brigades and occupied Richmond. Could it be related?

I don't think I miss-clicked, but I'm not really sure. If peace proposals are by default presented by an icon, and not an on-screen event, then I'm sure I didn't miss-click.

Jacobins have to control your capital for a year to enforce their demands, and I don't think they make you peace out either. Peace is always an icon (until you click it) though.

I got a completely random forced WP with Mexico at one point too - I can't recall if it was when I took Manifest Destiny but it seems likely. Quite irritating.

I suffered one unexpected WP too. I assumed I had pressed enter or clicked something by accident.

Attack of the unexpected WP! :p

edit: My WP had nothing to do with the Manifest Destiny decision, I enacted it after the war.

YEAAAH!!! i'm so mad, it happened like 10 minutes ago.

The biggest war i had in the entire game, Mexico VS me, the USCA, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil, it was easy, i killed that mexican general that survived the independence war of Texas, i asked for California, Arizona and New mexico, they accepted and nothing! a white peace, i thought i clicked in the wrong place, but nope...:(

i started playing like 4 hours ago :(
