Hi,

We are aware that the new mechanics of Man the Guns are not as intuitive as one might have hoped for, and tomorrow's stream will be dedicated to explanations and clarifications on how to best utilize the new features.

Niall and Da9L will be your hosts as usual, and the stream starts at 16:00CET, Wednesday the 6th of March over at twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive

Please post any requests for clarifications on anything in the game in this thread, and we'll do our best to address any questions in the stream. Please note that we'll only address questions about gameplay mechanics and features.

The stream will as usual be available on Youtube as soon as possible if you can't make it to the the liveshow.

What is the best way to max escorting efficiency?

In some places even with maxed doctrine and two or three task forces patrolling the area I have not reached 50% efficiency.

Do you have plans to adress the riduclous amount of Dockyards germany aquires trough the occupations? Its fun having a strong Axis for once but the U-bote frenzy they go on is paralyzing the Allies.

The Axis is stupendously pwoerfull

Dare i say it? Its... literaly unplayable ;)

Hi,. (1) very slow pace, click-by click, of how the Reserve Fleet thing works..., REAL SLOW. (2) Really slow click-by-click on the Strike force thing that works in concert with the patrols.., again, please.., slow, click by click. (3) replace you two guys with the great looking gals, (i) the one with black hair that does the Surviving Mars episodes, and (ii) the other super great looking gal that sometimes is in the stream for.., I cannot which game.., you know who I am talking about.

Thanks

Go through the new UI for navies slowly. I find it clunky to create new fleets, divide fleets and merge them and I don't understand the reserve fleet. Some tips and pointers how to set up a navy.

Wouldn't it make sense to wait until 1.61 is out? I mean, won't that patch have UI improvements and whatnot?

How to organise your fleet? What is right and what is wrong?
Have 1 fleet with 1 main strike force and some spotter attached to the same fleet, or seperate them to benefit from other admirals? Compact or seperated?

Tell us about your recommended fleet compositions, ship designs, how to utilize convoy restriction buttons. I would also like to know about organizing fleets easier(for me a big chore), reinforcement of fleets and mission. I know I threw a bunch of suggestions for you but I'm really not catching up. I feel like I'm spending more time on my fleet than on my armies as UK in my current playthrough.

Please there should be a way (icons included) for ship classes to be different in a glance ... at this moment its impossible to tell which for example is a battlecruiser , light cruiser or heavy cruiser or an anti AA destroyer ... i think under certain circumstances and modules the game should tell what kind of ship is what ...

1,61 has already been out for a few days. I've been using it for at least a couple of days.
You've been using the first version of the beta - it will be updated, and the full 'live' patch will be much more substantive.

No! Give us jake with a black wig!

Please have Niall control the computer. Daniel is very entertaining to watch, but tends to click through things too quickly for this type of stream.
I agree. Daniel will just start clicking like crazy showing off his amazing hoi4 skillz.

not sure what you mean exactly? in the taskforce overview? over the shipsymbol are 2 letters that indicate the ship class, and if that's not enough, just name them for example "CL-AA Atlanta Class"

Clarifications on how to optimize task forces and strike force. Can a player have multiple strike forces in a fleet and will the mechanic determine if one or several strike forces set sail when an enemy fleet is spotted?
Does the strike force has to be in the same fleet as the patrol task force or can strike forces react to spotting from other fleets?

Clarification on the spotting daily gain. The sub surface detection value for spotting in the dialog is not totally clear to me.

Auto creation of task forces. Eg I have 100 destroyers. How do I split them up easily into several task forces?

I think he means that, for example, a lot of people seem to be confused as to how battleships and battlecruisers differ, and how light and heavy cruisers differ.

In game terms, battlecruisers are the same as battleships but use a unique armor scheme, and heavy cruisers are any cruiser hull with the larger gun caliber (historically 8" or above).

I think these two facts could be more obvious to the player.
