After hitting the age of revolution (and meeting some other basic requirements) any nation can take the decision to free the slaves, playing manluks I took this decision and nothing else happened. Given the mamluks are a slave Empire (one of their special powers even involves selling slaves) I feel like this decision should have some big impact on their government form in game

The game doesn't forbid owning slaves, just legal trading in slavery, as was the case IRL as well. I'm sure an illustrous and just government such as the Mameluks would've found a workaround for the issue.

Jannisaries are not slaves by definition, bit deeper concept I'd say.

Jannisaries changed over time, but the game represents the original Slave Soldiers. Civilian Jannisaries appeared in the timeframe, but they are represented by taking Quantity Ideas.

No... Jannissaries were not really slaves... They were second-hand citizens for sure... But not slaves... It was an opportunity for families of different religion to have their children grow up in some sort of decent standard and they were in fact trained and maintained as sort of an early standing and professional army... And given that they later on became more intertwined in the government and actually grew in power within the government... they shouldn´t be associated with slaves in-game either

Wikipedia here. So yeah, they started as slaves but hey, they were more chill about it 300 years later.

Yep. Also, a distinction was made between chattel slavery (people treated as property) and other forms of involuntary servitude, such as serfdom (although you can argue some instances of so-called 'serfdom' were actually chattel slavery, e.g. in Russia). Slave-soldiers as found in the Muslim world were really something else again.
