I've posted this suggestion in mod threads. Thought I would leave it here too in the hopes it would get noticed by the mighty Paradox liege lords!

Is possible to create a specific 'Mamluk' trait for characters in the relevant Muslim regions? Similar to the Viking raider or Varangian traits already present. A boost to marshal but with a penalty on diplomacy.
Perhaps an intrigue button where one 'purchases Mamluks' or something to that effect thus appearing Turkic/Circassian etc courtiers in your court with said traits.

Existing historical Mamluks Aybak,Qutuz, Baibars etc would also have this trait.

Ultimately I'm wondering if there are intentions to represent some sort of mamluk system in the game. Horse Lords DLC presumably opens up all kinds of possibilities with the new features.

Even simply amending the culture of certain Egypt based rulers in the game with the aforementioned traits would go along way. I am referring of course to the mamluk rulers from 1250 onward but also other earlier mamluk dynasties such as the Tulunids.

It's a great idea but it's really only relevant to much later bookmarks, which Paradox has decided are no longer worth the effort since 90% of people never play anything but the earliest bookmarks.

I mean, the Mamluk bookmarks don't even recognize that Mamluk sultans were Turkish, not Egyptian (or at least they didn't a few months ago when I filed a bug report about it.) I will be shocked if Paradox every does anything to deal with the Mamluks and Ottomans in CK2.

Actually it's very relevant to the the earliest bookmarks. Specifically the 867 one. The whole Ghilman/mamluk system really came into prominence during this period. In fact a few such historical characters are already located in game as landed rulers. Even at least one of the Bughas involved in the 9th century Abbasid shenanigans. To say nothing of the Tulunids.

Interesting regarding Egyptian based rulers. Have they been changed to more accurate cultures in vanilla then? I have been playing heavily modded versions of the game so haven't loaded up a vanilla campaign in at least a year.
