Has anyone else noticed how much money Mali builds up fairly quickly? As Portugal it was trivial to propagate a war there... get 100% war score, and boom... acquire over 1000 ducats in ~1510 AD.

Is this normal? Does anyone else do this? It seems like too good a boost.

Mali was and still very wealthy with gold and other goodies, back then it also produced salt, you can live without gold but you can not live without salt, salt was more valued than gold back then, even the word salary come from salt because they used it as a currency and to pay soldiers, also all kind of exotic goods were produced in Africa exclusively like ostrich feathers used to decorate officers hats and whatnot, ivory etc etc haven't you ever heard about the mythical cities of Timbuktu and Gao ?
