Mali AI is not only pathetic but toxic.

Every time i uncover fog of war over Mali it is covered in rebels almost 100% and if i conquer it i am MUCH more scared of rebelbombs then of their pathetic army. It just doesn't make any sense that country still survives in this pathetic state for years and years.

Also looking at this, Ming rework and PU AE rework i wonder is paradox trying to make this game better or worse so we will all be happy to transition to EU 5 or what comes next?

That was a obvious problem the second Paradox started giving crisies that can only be resolved by mission trees. Even if they do program the AI to rush missions, it will probably stop working every few patches when some variable goes slightly off.

I managed to diplo vassalize them quite easily because the rebels kept raising autonomy everywhere, giving Mali an abysmal effective economic output.

I regretted it after the 5th rebellion and stopped caring about them whatsoever after the 8th. In the end, I just integrated them as soon as possible to get rid of the uninteresting rebel rising messages which obfuscated the actual relevant ones.

This!
Mali AI is not able to handle the Mission Tree, its too complex.
Even as a player you could easily struggle with Mali, if you do not the right things first.

Yes so dont ever ever vassalize Mali. Conquer and Forget.
