I often do something similar, but without equality I can't land them to a court, so I just leave them breeding at my court, or marry them to whatever vassal needs a wife and give em 3 good consorts. I don't have The Reaper's Due (Only Holy Fury and the stuff in the $70 starter pack on Steam), so I don't think I have to worry about my courtiers getting culled.

Edit: That was a reply to jwalche. I'm still trying to figure out quotes here.

Yes but when breeding is the goal, your ruler is the only one who can really breed in your capital court due to its size. You don't get court pruning in your own court. But health and fertility penalty is severe.

Well, when the main purpose is bloodline merge, and you really want a few children fast from a new couple, you could keep them in your court and seduce the girl. Your son will probably make some grandsons in his own court. But you can ensure faster and more grandchildren this way.

Seducing your in-law always work because either you get your grandson or your own son. There is no failure. I purposefully kept several brothers in my court, just to give each of them strong / genius wives and concubines for me to seduce. Doesn't matter if the strong/genius/attractive offspring becomes my child or nephew under feudal elective law. For the remains, nephews are good enough to marry off to foreign duchess.

For example, for Sigurd Ring in 769 you can keep Ragnar in your court until you have successfully cockholded him for a grand daughter with his and a captured foreign girl's bloodlines merged through maternal marriage. Sigurd starts without any bloodline and could have made several through forging and Warrior's lodge event. When you are ready to retire, if you have a genius younger sister of Ragnar, Legitimize her, make her your heir (kill Ragnar if necessary), and maternally marry her with Ragnar's son to merge all the bloodlines.

Infact, in-court breeding is very difficult with Sigurdr until Ragnar and his younger brothers become 16. Lovers will be keep dying off if left in your court, and married out lovers often make their husbands believe that the children are theirs. You can give a few minor titles and both spymaster and priest councilor titles to your lovers, but you don't have many. Girls with claims are protected, but there aren't many with claims in the beginning. Your in-court lovers are only really protected after you make them wives and concubines of your dynasts, or after reformation so that you can fill all your minor titles with your lovers.

That's a bit radical- and also you can check up in the code in question that relatives are not just protected from pruning, but also fertile. There was a related thread mentioning this just recently. Specially at a game start with elsewise empty court, unless you spam invitiations the first generation, you can grow a quite solid dynasty.
Nonetheless no doubt a big own harem like described above is the most efficient way to breed a lot of dynastic children. Typically, however, if you're already killing off the first one just like because, you're overdoing it ;)

Oh I had over 8000 living dymasts. Revoked all the temples and cities too, and used all 1200 realm holdings as breeding ground. Each man and women 3 concubines/consorts each. Dynasty women were revoked of their titles at age 45 to give the room to younger family members. Later I murdered parents at younger age when their first child became 16. It was fine until massive epidemics came. Then the system started lag so heavy I had to end the game right there.

With the new reformation religion update in Holy Fury, is there any way to make a religion where the female ruler is allowed to have male concubines?
Yup, play as an African or Bön Pagan. They get it by default. I think the "Enatic Clans" reform allows this also, but I am not sure.
