Yep, but we also know that fist_name (without any gender) is possible, so why should not second_names be replacable by second_names_male.

According to Reddit this is the code:
As I previously said, I suspect it is already possible. If we can have seperate male and female first names, seperate male and female regnal names, seperate regnal surnames, Ican see no reasonable objection to being able to make the gender distinction for surnames as well. After all, we are only talking about custom name lists here, nothing that would actually tax the devs ressources beyond a reasonable limit.
That is pretty neat, if you roleplay your aliens as a species that clones itself or has any "abnormal" ways of producingYep, but we also know that fist_name (without any gender) is possible,.

What? Yes, yes they are? If they are second names they definitly are. First names, if anything are the only thing that needs to be divided into male and female
Now you do know it.Narrowminded is a bit harsh considering that i've literarily never heard about any language using gender based surnames.

I'm pretty angry there aren't at least 50 different name sets with non-latin characters.
Such cultural supremacist. Wow.
You may use unicode characters anyway
Like, the Spanish love their gender mismatched second name.

I think you've misunderstood me. What I mean is rather that since the standard still seems to be non-gender specific last names I don't see why they should put the development effort into it, mostly since it doesnt seem to be that big of a deal. That said - if they do find the time and implement it (if it isnt already) then i'll hardly oppose it.Narrowminded just means the scope of your thinking was (relatively) limited. You decided that something shouldn't exist in a sci-fi game because you never encountered it on Earth.

I'd just assume that every named character is polite enough to only use the male/gender-neutral form of his second name. If something confuses your own species you might want to consider to drop it when it comes to interracial diplomacy.
