As suggested by Hiramas (sorry I missed the point earlier), I am posting the following feature request here as a new thread. Hopefully the devs will see it!!

I think this would go in the Parks and Decoration category.

Make trees do more than reduce noise pollution. In addition, they would (ideally can be toggled on/off):
  1. Increase surrounding land value
  2. Reduce surrounding ground pollution (and air pollution if that is implemented)
  3. Increase happiness for all nearby zone types, basically a park effect
  4. And of course, as has already been suggested, a resizeable tree brush tool with randomised trees ability; and you can *pick* from a list the trees you want to randomly brush
Doing 1 thru 3 would make trees much more realistic. I think it's a shame they do so little now!

I completely agree with you.
I'm pretty sure many people came from SC4 had the same thought by firstly planting some trees, it will increase the surrounding land value and reduce the surrounding ground/air pollution.

But no effect at the moment. :cool:

Yeah they do. But like I said I really don't think that's realistic. I think they should also:
  1. Increase surrounding land value

These things are what trees do in real life, and I think should be implemented in the game, too.
