The dev missions are probably the least fun missions. First off, I have to invest one of the most precious resources in the game in order to get really meager results.

Secondly, the most - and only, really - fun thing about deving is choosing the province you want to dev. But that is obviously completely taken out of the equation.

I understand that you might need a filler mission if no other type is applicable, but I'd rather not do these at all. In fact I find them actively unfun. And they appear when others are available, too.
I know this because I restart when I get them in 1444. /rant over

Another estate mission that needs fixing is the colonial missions. There's no way to colonize an entire state in the time it alots for you to complete it.

I feel the dev missions are fine. The mission only requires two points of development which isn't super expensive. Spending 100 dip points to improve the productivity of one of your core provinces and getting 100 ducats isn't a particularly bad deal particularly when playing in Europe where expansion opportunities are limited by AE.

EUROPE, maybe. But the RoTW? It's not the best mission you can get. And it comes up the most frequently, which can be a real annoyance in the early game. Mid and late game, if you played well enough, it's not so much of an issue regardless of what continent you're on. But it's still annoying to get. That, and the "give 2 privilege's to X estate" mission.

Later in the game missions from burgers can give you enough money to build one manufacture. Not bad at all

Maybe a way to improve it would be to demand developement of a state, not a province, so that the player actually has to consider where to develop best? Same goes for the building missions, especially the fort ones.
