With missiles technology coming of age in the mid 50's, while I am not a weapon expert, I am going to assume they can fire over the horizon just like a Battleship with the correct targeting data.
Therefore, to emulate the change from large capital ships other than carriers to more expensive and dedicated roles for Destroyers and Cruisers, I ask that they gain a large firing distance boost, as well as sea attack bonus.
A missile destroyer could in theory sink a traditional battleship, hence why they seldom exist at all these days.
