Manicheanism, with its own holy sites, holy order and greatly different geographical distribution, is already stretching the boundary of "trust me, we aren't a separate religious group - we're a heresy!" much further than any other heresy. These two religions don't necessarily have to tolerate each other; they can have the same holy war mechanic as intra-muslim dynasto-theological disputes, regard each other as infidels, and so on if they feel so inclined.

However, the rise of one should not place any pressure on the other to convert. Manichean mongols should not be having any crisis of faith because of the restoration of a Zoroastrian Persia. The practical difference between a heresy and a different religious branch is whether or not they are trying to occupy the same space. The altaic nomads who practice Manicheanism occupy different space, so they are not in direct competition with Zoroastrianism as other heresies directly compete with the parent religion.

Also, while the early start date still arrives too late to see the fall of the ostrogoths and is well into the fall of the goths generally, the remaining goths and visigoths do not belong in the Byzantine or Iberian cultural groups. They are an invasive Germanic people, and until they melting pot assimilate into these cultures, they should continue to be hostile foreigners.
