I don't know what you guys think about it but at the moment it's not really interesting. If you have the bigger army, you win in one, two months. If you have a smaller army, you just wait to produce and move a bigger army Into the system. For the defender it's not a real investment to build a big fortress, because if you lost the space war, you lost the war. It's at the moment just really annoying and do not really stop you from losing/winning the war. (My experience)

Please make it feel like a big thing to conquer a planet.

The Idea is a little Tile based Chessboard where you can move you troops like EU4 or something similar. You can have boni and mali for every army type against another and the titles have some influence as well. You can bombard a specific Tile, in which are different building/pops etc. You can loot Resource depots etc. Make every battle take longer so the player can do other things in the meantime and an invasion takes maybe some years, it should be another Theater where you fight parallel to the space war and no little annoying break between some space battles
