There is a terrible problem with Cities Skylines. People leave. I have to make people happy.

That isn't to say Tropico 1 didn't have problems, it's hard creating a class society, everyone has equal access to food and healthcare. How do you deprive the poor of food and healthcare when you end up depriving soldiers and policemen as well?

It would be fun to recreate East Berlin, or Baghdad, or even Megacity One. A city-state simulator certainly hasn't been done before.

A sketch/outline:

-Citizens who desire more liberty will attempt to escape (unless you fund border checkpoints sufficiently to search enough vehicles). Citizens who are intelligent or are educated are less likely to be deported back to your country.
-Citizens store money three places, on their person, at home, or at a bank. All three can be robbed, although you can have a law insuring bank deposits.
-Citizens can form organizations, political, social, or illegal.
-You can mandate social media companies give your intelligence services data on citizens.
-You can create a class society with different levels of privileges, certain districts have better healthcare, or greater restrictions on police brutality.
-North Korea has entire towns as prisons.
-As proven in the Egyptian Revolution, it's trivial to make shotguns at home.
