I'm talking about the social war ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_war
In 91 BCE, Romes Italian allies (all the territories south of Umbria and Etruria, with the exception of Latium and Campaignia) declared an independent state of Italica and went to war with Rome.
They were able to immediatly put 100,000 legionnaires into the field against a Rome that had only about four true legions present.
This was a major event that could have changed the entire history of the world if it was successful.
I would like to see this represented in the game as a seperate state rising up, not just as Roman rebels. But it is not even touched on at all, even with rebelling provinces.
I think it would add a dynamic because if you started during this period, Rome would lose more than half of Italy to a different country with a strong military. It would make for a more dynamic playing experience.
