Majesty with Vista Problem

I have both Majesty's. The original and the Gold edition. I can install it on Windows Vista Premium Edition with no problems. Once installed, I load the game to play and I recieve a black screen at the load up and can hear all the sounds. I push the Esc button to skip through the advertisements since i cant see them. Once i get to the main menu of Majesty (table, candles, map etc.) It shows up perfectly, the little hand as the mouse etc. Upon moving the mouse/hand around, looks to be a flickering black box around the hand and about a few seconds later its starts leaving trails of black boxes. Especially around the buttons area at the bottom. I can click the buttons but it take a few secs to register. But the black boxes start to override the screen. If I get to game map same thing starts happening. Starts with flickering box around the hand and starts leaving a trail. I have tried to switch scroll speed down to 5 as said and also tried compatability adjustments but nothing seems to work. I have played this game from first day it was released and love playing it but my new computer seems to have a problem with it. Does anyone else have this problem, or can anyone help me with this issue? Thank-you for your time.

O and by the way I have all the latest and newest drivers for all my equipment in my computer.

Ati 3870x2 with 8.10 drivers
2gig of Dominator Ram mem

So it shouldn't be a problem playing.

You should make a shortcut to the executable and there's two things that probably should be added to it. the first is -nointro (after the quotes in the shortcut) to get past the initial black screen (although it doesn't seem to be a problem). The mouse thing I can't remember, I'll have to look it up unless another old-timer remembers.

Hey Spiderman Thanks my friend, I appreciate you taking the time to respond! I have done the intro skip and now look foward to the mouse problem. I also just re-ordered another Gold Edition Majesty for safe measures. I believe once I get that mouse problem corrected I will be able to play!

The mouse problem is in the Majesty registry settings. It's set to some value (what it is I can't remember) and you have to change it to a lower value so the mouse works at a reasonable speed.

He did that already (the scroll speed mentioned in his first post). The mouse problem is different; it creates black trails on the screen that eventually wipes it out. I think it's something to do with cursor stability, but can't remember the shortcut for it (if there is one).

I thought the in-game setting you could get rid of the hand cursor and use the standard arrow. If that doesn't work try adjusting your windows graphics acceleration settings (display properties).

Ok will give that a shot and see what happens. Have not had too much luck yet and have been searching everywhere for a solution. Thanks
