I find this feature very annoying. You start with white Turkey trying to remake the Ottoman Empire. Then Turkey goes red then Turkey goes green. The color shift is slightly annoying and you also have green Portugal, Italy and Bulgaria in Europe. Not exactly the most inspired color.
Canada's independence used to be a terrible white, because there was a high chance of being at war with white Japan. Now it's a bright red slightly different from UK's red, which is better but not better than the original dark red.
The only color change that I liked more than the original one was Germany's dark grey when removing fascism. Everything else is rather a step down.
Why bother with different colors for the same nation? Why not maintain the same color of nations regardless of their government, name or independence status? It's a lot easier to follow for players.
Formable nations are an exception like Rome, Byzantium or EU. But a country changing government or gaining independence is not the same thing as a formable nation.
Instead of giving multiple colors to the same nation, why not leave it as it is originally to avoid further confusion and instead fix the colors of already existing nation?
- China and Vietnam are both yellow and right next to each other. Vietnam's color could be changed to brown similar to Kenya.
- Japan and Korea are both white and right next to each other. Korea's color could be changed to a non-bright pink similar to Zambia.
Or anything else that doesn't have a high likelyhood of having 2 countries of the same colors next to each other.
