Kill Britain before you go after Russia. Or something I will definetely try, be nice to poor Poland and go heads on with the Soviets first. Though I'm not sure whether France and Britain would hold still in that case, because declaring war on Russia surely catapults World tension to 100%. If you have to hold a third of your army back in the West anyway, you have no advantages from not conquering France before that. But maybe its truly possible to not piss the allies off.
I was thinking of attacking the USSR in 1940 instead of France so that they would be less prepared. Face it, you need 30 divisions either way to face West whether you occupy France etc or not.
My main strategy will be to follow largely historic lines until Barbarossa. For barbarossa I'll pull my forces back to Konigsberg, Slovakia and the original Polish borders, declare war, let the Soviets advance, then pinch in from Konigsberg and Slovakia to Kessel their entire military.

Play it as it would be a 3 way Cold War. Get Austria fast, build up and get as many allys as possible(Scandinavia ,Balkans and Iberia)
Wait and see what happends, and maybe by 41 engage in open hostilitis, ho knows maybe USSR is allredy at war with UK.... just mope them up.

Focus on a Massive Fighter force to establish air supperority over Great Britan and never lose it. Only have a small number of Dive bombers to support the army. Ignore all other aircraft. For the Army focus on quick breakthrough units and heavy infantry divisions. Use the quick units to break through lines to envelop and destroy units quickly. Attrition is the enemy. The infantry is there to hold the rest of the line while you manualy breakthrough. Build a small force of Marines to use in Russia to speed advance accross rivers and through the marshland. Ignore the navy for now.

3. Anchluss then kick off WW2 in the normal way by invading poland. Establish Air Supperority over France. Poland now will not have the hope of the Romanian bridgehead (or the alliance, which im not even sure is represented in the game at all anyway)
4. Finish off poland, then kick the decadent French's door in (through the great German highway of Belgium). Celebrate the victory in Paris. Establish Air supperiority over Great Britian. Support the Finish in the winter war as much as you can without being in the war.
5. Polish off Netherlands and Denmark. Rescue the Italians from whatever debacle they are in.
6. Get Hungary and Bulgaria into Axis one way or another.
7. Yugoslavia and Greece, give to Italians.
8. Prepare Barbarossa, remember to produce coats and other cold weather gear. Bring finland into Axis
9. Launch Barbarossa early.. no waiting around. That month delay perhaps cost the war last time. The second the spring rain stops, invade.
10. Keep the airforce over Great Britian, but pull what you can safley move to the russian front, keep the dive bombers protected and the soviet airforce from having an impact.
11. Land troops in Finland to help them push back the soviets. Take Linengrad from the north while the bulk of soviet forces are still in the Ukraine and Belarus
12. Keep encircling and destroying soviet troops in pockets.
13 Get to Moscow and accept Stalins head on a platter. Move the border of Russia back to the Volga river. Give St Petersburg, Murmansk and the Kola Penensula to Finland. Enjoy the Baku Oilfields.
14. Go to Calais and look towards Great Britian, begin Plan Z reboot. Continue keeping every British plane grounded. Paratroopers are now going to be important as well.
15. Oh, we forgot to invade Sweden and norway.... Make it so
16. Give Sweden and norway to your staunch Finish ally. The North remembers.
17. Rescue the Italians from whatever debacle they are in.
18. Check out what japan is doing, say hmmmm.

I would invade south America to get in a good position to invade USA early on when there armies are not mobilized and prepared. i would also drop invading the soviet union. i will also try to get argentina on the axis side.
If I invade the USA I'll try to make Mexico fascist and join the axis. I could use Mexico as deployment zone and as a distraction.
I really really am tempted to build up a decent navy and airforce and try a sealion with paras and marines.

Conquer Poland by taking Czechoslovakia. Poland will have the Slovak border undefended, meaning my armies can sweep north while a small defense force keeps the poliah forces in check.
Sounds like a pretty decent plan, starve the british folks out and blocking their ports. Think i'm going with your strategy.
What i'm going to do for my first Germany game is: Buildup ---> Rhineland ---> Anschluss ---> Befriend Czechoslovakia ---> Eastern claims ---> attack Poland ---> Anti-Comintern pact ---> Build Eastern European alliance ---> Barbarossa ---> Profit.
Hopefully I can avoid a war in the west until i've already got all the resources i need from Russia.

There is an actual military strategy that does this, I forget the name though. Anyone?
Invade Poland in 39 and then Denmark and Norway. Then invade France through the Netherlands and Belgium. Then try to win an air war over Britain and failing that, focus attention to the east and attack the Soviet Union. And also declare war on the USA just for the lulz. Don't see what can go wrong

If the game any realistic in terms of possibilities, then the historical route is probably the best till lets say 1941 minus some unused investment like the surface fleet and planes lost at Blitz. Germany overperformed IRL. Matching history is probably a success already.
