I found a rather nice video today:

Also, here are some screenshots of a level I haven't seen before:

I must admit, the game looks beautiful so far. I can't wait to play it.

Here my impressions and thoughts, first some things I dislike:

  • The UI is too messy, I hope players on PC can remove them
  • The status effects on the bottom look like they were taken straight out of some flash game
  • no luggages, magicks unlock when reaching a certain score? ultra uncool
  • Air push is a magick?! seriously, what the hel?! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qC09qAtAtuQ)
  • Ice shards seem to be just as useless as in Magicka, sigh
  • @13:29 EFDF armor doesn't fully protect against flame throwers? Did the guys who worked on the wards play too much M:WW or something?
  • Why does crossing W and S beams do craploads of damage while ES mines barely do any?
  • Why doesn't Paradox let people who are popular AND good at Magicka play the demo?
  • "Wave" would sound so much better than "Phase"
  • E shields are ugly (haven't seen a shield dome yet)
  • magicks are bound to hotkeys
  • no dedicated PvP mode *cries*
And these are the things I find pretty cool:

  • The game looks beautiful, just what I expected from a bitsquid engine game
  • The artifacts seem to be cool
  • The dark altars I heard of in another preview sound like a cool idea

Conclusion:
Whatever you guys are smoking over there, can I get some too, please?

I don't think anyone falls into that category. Besides, the logic is that showing off the spellcasting system's potential would spoil the gameplay... or something... IDK.

Just preorder the deluxe edition and everything will be okay.

(I think if you hand Pieces Interactive a suitcase of money, and sign an NDA, they'll let you play early. Or you could become a gaming journalist who's skeptical about the game.)

I didn't watch it all since the ui also looked like a cheap flash game. I just hope that the zoom out is only present in the player vs ai multiplayer(I don't remember the magicka name). If the single player looks similar to the multiplayer zoom I will be very disappointed.

Also the game play footage seems to be made with controllers in mind instead of a keyboard.

I hope that we'll get slightly better music on the final release.
I'm all serious now.

...although it's hard to tell, since so many things happen on screen. But it is not as impressive as I'd think it would be.
Luggages were fun, but if the thing I see on the left is randomly generated, it can be too.
UI has to be smaller.
Kinda sad because of air push, but in original it was useless anyways. Some tactics like speeding rocks up and such are going to die out, but hey, at least the netcode is smoother...
Also, I don't like how enemies' hitboxes fade right when they die, not after few seconds. It was extremely fun, pumping corpses with damage to make them explode. And it would seem a bit more realistic that way

I don't like how you can actually see your "friends" elements instead of just the element orb

2 red wizards one with a purple health bar and another with a green one - looks weird
All green bars except yours which would be a yellow bar - better

I found the UI too 'flat' too… And too omnipresent… I mean, it's magicka, why won't we have some ornamental shapes on it ?

It's interesting to see which elements different players are casting, and also which magicks are available, but it's too big in my opinion atm. So much margin seems useless, and is hiding many things on the screen.
I guess you only see the other 'Players Panel' on Local Multiplayer btw (in this case, PS4) !?

The general atmosphere and the 'pastel colors' are great, animations works well too. I'm just not fan of the style of the status effect… It's just… well, too cheap, and looks like it comes from a Mobile Game.

[serious face on]
It just hit me, although it should have hit me a long time ago - I played Orig Mag.
Therefore I expect sequel to be the same, with slight improvements that I've been coming up with while playing OM.
Player opinion-based Magicka 1.1, if you'd like.
And I'd bet, that many great players, that were starting from OG as well and went through balancing wheel of Wizard Wars, have similiar expectations - even if they (and so if I) think, that it's all for the better for Magicka 2.
Nobody wants to play the clone, though, and you understand it really well.
M2 already brings many new features that I would never see coming, and I am amazed. I would love to be conservative.....
and expect me to be awfully conservative....
but I hope, that you humans there know what you're doing. I have faith in you, Devs. And you'll have my money, regardless of the quality of the final product, I'll buy it anyways - because I love Magicka, I love playing around with the spellcasting system, I love to be a Wizard.
...
Anyway, is Johan Lindgren still responsible for franchise's soundtrack?

The FPS-style straffing is nauseating is to watch because people move just as fast when they're casting spells as they do when they are running. it makes beams seem really annoying to aim properly. It looks like the wizards are all wearing ice skates which adds to the nausea. Maybe if you just slowed movement by 50-80% while channeling spells (as per M:WW)??
