I understand the MacOS version of Stellaris has a memory leak. This results in an eventual crash to desktop when running large mods, but rarely when using vanilla Stellaris.

Is this a known issue?

If not, I can provide the devs with multiple crash logs and save files.

If it is known, is a fix planned?

I'm not across all reported bugs in this or any game, you could try searching the Bug Reports forum.

If this only happens with large mods, that doesn't really sound like a game memory leak I have to say, but instability caused by those mods. Have the mod authors commented on this?

Yes, the Mod developers (for Star Trek: New Horizons) are saying this:

"Until Paradox Interactive has fixed the mac Stelllaris version regular CTD bugs that often occurs with big mods, you can avoid the regular CTD issues on mac by playing the windows version of Stellaris on mac with help of PlayOnMac and Wine"

Yes, there are several reports in the bug forum of late-mid game crashes on MacOS. None of those threads appear to have been responded to.

That's why I posted here: Wondering if the developers have noted this, and if it's in the fix list

It is QA that monitor the Bug Reports forum, not the developers themselves. QA do read every post there, even if not responded to.

But are those crashes specifically the possible memory leak you mention, with the same mods you see these problems in?

I have not done a full survey of all crash-to-desktop reports with Stellaris running MacOS, nor have I surveyed which were running mods and which were not.

I've pointed out what others have reported (with attached crashlogs), and am simply asking if this is a problem known by QA or the developers
....or if it is not.

Stellaris QA and/or the developers must maintain a bug fix list.
This issue is on it, or it's not.

To be honest: If this is a known issue, but is considered low priority, I'd rather know, so as not to waste more of my time playing for hours just to generate a crashlog that will not be acted upon.

I do not know what the status of this issue is with QA or the developers, I'm sorry. I'm just an external technical support contractor on the other side of the world!

If you have a saved game that reliably shows this, please make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach it there - can't hurt!
