I was talking about France sharing (part of) her maps with Venice. Not the exchange of maps

I will gladly accept Messina through editing and guarantuee Spains territorial integrity and forgive Spain's blatant aggression regarding our Italian vassal the Pope and admit to a return of normalized diplomatical relations between our two nations. I will however not guarantuee that I will one day visit the Royal Library of Madrid with my army. Its up to Spain to accept this or not. Other nations enforcing trade embargoes against Venice, a free trade champion, should expect similar visits.

How to stick with the rules and in the same time give Venetian player the chance to enjoy the game a bit more?
I think we can agree that Venice was extremely unlucky with random explorers and conquistadors, so I second the suggestion to edit her a few of those. Specifficly:
- explorer 1662-1672 with 5-2-2 features
- conquistador 1662-1672 with 4-1-1 features
- explorer 1672-1682 with 5-2-2 features

Why not give those explorers and conq with normal random explorer / conq ratings? To compensate lost time...?

Well, if you get a random explorer / conq by the random explorer / conq event it gets values: 3 / 2 / 2, modified with dps for fire / shock as normal.

And since it's mainly for exploration, not for combat, I assumed conquistadors, which will get military access, don't need too high combat ratings, while to explorers, operating on opened seas (possible hostile waters) should have some ability to defend...
I was more concerned with the expected life. Clearly, 2x10 is better than 1x20. And I remember that even in early days of naval technology 10 years was enough time to explore a lot...
Well, russians explored whole American East Coast from Quebec to Patagonia in ten years with naval 11 or so... Though Russia had access from Portugal, which helped, but I am quite sure Venice would be able to secure access from someone, at least if it pays for it. But as I assume Venice will want maps from more of the world than just Atlantic and American east coast, then maybe 2 x 10 years is better.
