TPs are off limits. There was confusion between one set of rules and another-it'll be resolved and you'll be compensated.

Do I understand that up until 1600 not even TPs are allowed in the Pacific?

If so, what happens on the 1st of january 1600 when all who have explored the whole or part of the Pacific sit with their finger on the "Send colonist" button and presses it....

Who will come first...

I guess the one who cheats the most, i.e. sends them at the earliest date in december

But that can perhaps be seen in the GMs log. Side question: does the GM has access to all the player nations game log? If so it boils down to who presses first at each respective province...

It would indeed fascinating to sit and watch. A little bit like Jeopardy. Who presses quickiest! :D

Hmmm...this is a perfect example of a waaaaaay to one-seded view on a problem

Here is the other extreme: one country, a strong naval power, let's the rest of the less fortunate bunch of countries with colonial aspirations to build some colonies to some level, and than takes them - very profitable :D

HG,

I don't consider the matter settled, You are saying that the wars are two different while they are not. And its allowed for major colonial powers to dow minors and rape them since they can't fight in europe. Damo is very correct in his post. You should read what has been posted again and reevaluate.

Barnius, nice to see you teaching the European land powers once more that good ships rule outside Europe every day of the week regardless of manpower ;). I'm beginning to think no one can touch you in the realms of colonial/trading management. Still Archduke takes over the Netherlands soon right? I still remember his England from Tsunami so you might have some competition yet!

I wonder, is Spain still trying to depose good queen Bess and vassalise you or has their time passed?

Anyone care to post a map of Europe and North America for the audience?

In my oppinion, Spanish time passed just a few years after King Felipe II The Mad presented his insane demands, since by than Spain let England outnumber her signifficantly in number of warships.
Still, Bazan was unmatched in those times, so perhaps I am wrong, but from 1577, when Drake came and when England had 150 warships and Spain still 50...

Netherlands suffers from bad Spanish naval herritage ;)

Allies are one thing, but vassals are a completely other, even by our rules. If Genoa is only Venetian ally, than she can for some reason chose to give her mighty neighbor France MA, even if it is used to attack her ally...
But if Genoa was Venetian vassal, than Venice should decide Genoese foreign policy. Meaningbetween sessions editing in/out TAs, embargoes, MAs,... and during the session player countries should ask Venice as vassal overlord if they can offer/accept something to/from Genoa.

Sounds like common sense? ;)

And you are right about escalation of the colonial war, but it is only possible if Spain is asking too much from France in colonies and France is willing to go to war in Europe over it. Perhaps a COT is too much?

Feh. Too easily abused. nations had their own foreign policy, and none of the italian states could do anything when armies decided to march around their territory.

Plus, I can just see some smartass swooping in and vassalizing china or persia and decreeing that it embargos every state but them ;)

IMHO the Polish-Ottoman situation is completely different, since we all agreed that the Ottomans were basically "barbarians" that you don't talk to (hence they are not subject to the three province rule)
atl least, that's how I see it. So I'd say fighting and sieging together is not allowed, while moving through territories the other occupies or sieges is.

so, one victory means I'm all alone the next time? I guess the Polish-Swedish alliance is then one that should not be :p

can't blame him for assuming that, but it does explain why he felt the "need" to occupy me as long as possible..

You mean I could have asked for more than 3 provinces? Darn :(

M3-1583-income-graph.jpg

Notes:
  • Austria and Ottoman Empire still suffer consequences of their wars I suppose. Ottoman income should be about 400-500 d higher, and Austrian about 100-200 d higher.
  • Austria was beaten really bad in the last two decades.
  • Spain is still in the lead, and when she concentrate on trade again…
  • France recovered
  • Portugal is growing steadily.
